RE: That wasn't on my bucket list?!: Antarctica

What a beautiful journey! And what nice pictures, thank you so much for sharing them, it sure was a great adventure. Too bad you contracted COVID just at that time: although it was rare for the date, it must have been annoying to feel a bit discriminated against by your shipmates. Hope your trip was great anyway.

I'm from Buenos Aires, but I've been living in Ushuaia for over 5 months now (I was on a nomadic trip but I got a bit stuck, maybe the city won't let go me go!) I'm a receptionist in a hostel so all the time I see people coming here excited about the trip to Antarctica. I haven't been (and I don't think I can because the 9 day trip currently costs 5000 dollars in its cheap option), but when guests come back and show me photos like these, sharing their excitement with me, it's totally gratifying. Everyone says the Drake Passage part is the worst, with huge waves of over 7 metres - unbelievable! I also met people who jumped in the water to swim (only for two seconds, of course), and only with a small swimming costume. I guess being in Antarctica will give you that euphoria that makes you do that kind of crazy things.

I'm glad you got to see the white continent! And I also hope your stay in Ushuaia was a pleasant one. Greetings ❤️!
