Hahaha yes, lots of fun. A shame that on youtube you can not have the original song (uptown funk-bruno mars).
Oh really? You are half German? How is your german now? did you keep the language? What part in Germany?
Glad you liked it @littlebee4 - let´s see if I can make it into the TD as well ;)

Oh… I will imagine the song with it 😎
Yes I am… the other half is Dutch. Born in France though… (to complicate things 😉) I am still fluent in German. I never lost it. Just need to switch 15 minutes during a conversation and all will come back.
My second language is Dutch. Than I learned Limburgs… only 13 years ago I learned english hahaha
When I lived in Spain I started to learn Spanish, I understand almost everything. Still learning.
Am learning right now 2 more languages. Oh, were do I find time 🕰️!LOL
We lived in several villages / cities in NRW, around and in Heinsberg. (Let’s say I moved a lot in my live. I stopped counting after 45 times and 8 countries further) 🫣
We made it wooohhooooo 🥳
!PIZZA to celebrate.
Oh so you are not only a world traveler but also a language freak, just like me 😆 What is Limburgs?
I grew up in Germany (German), learned English and Spanish in school, then lived in Mexico for 5 years (Spanish/English), then in Paris (French) - but never got fluent... don´t know but Paris people didn't motivate me much to learn it perfectly 😅 - Now I am learning Italian, as my wife is half Italian and I love Italy 🐝🐝 - Thats great. So if we ever meet in person, we will always have a secret language to talk to each other hehehe
Wow 45 moves and 8 countries? how old are you?! 😅 - I see, you are beating me on so many levels @littlebee4😜 - are you staying where you live now or already planning the next move ? 😎😅
Sounds like it. So cool 😎
Limburg is a Dutch dialect. From the south of the Netherlands in the province Limburg. I lived there mostly when I lived in the netherlands.
That sounds so great! You traveled (lived in more places) a lot like me.
I noticed that learning a language in the field so depends on where exactly you live.
The last countries… even if I spoke their language, everybody replied in english hahaha it is so much harder to learn then.
It is great you are learning Italian. It is a stunning country.
We will… our secret language hahaha 🤣
Don’t ask hahaha it looks like I moved every half year or so. Hahaha but I guess I am a bit older than you. Just passed my mid forties. 🫣
Nope, we will move in the next half year again… no idea when het or where we go to next. Depends of hubby finds a job and where.
I so wanted and need to settle… moving this much is exhausting. Believe me.
There are dialects in Dutch?! can you compare it to Bavarian in German? If yes, its like a whole new language haha.
Oh yeah, learning a language in a country were its spoken is so much easier.. but also depends on the mentality of the people. I am sure that in some french village, I would have learned it way faster than in Paris. - In general, I am not a fan of big cities anyway. Most people are always so stressed and superficial there. - Losing track of the essential things in life... But I guess Paris was especially hard as I was just coming from the Caribbean haha - total culture shock!
You mean in Sweden and Ireland it was easier to speak English? yeah, I guess in the northern part of Europe English is so easy for everyone.. almost like a second language. I guess pronunciation must be hard as well as speaking those languages. My BF is from Denmark. I do understand a lot because of German, but so hard to try to speak it. - Yeah! Italian is awesome - and so easy to learn if you already speak French and Spanish :D Grammar is almost the same, words are so similar.. only the endings are different.
You did move a lot!! How come?! You are almost like a Nomad Jackie! - Well older yes, but not a lot. I am in my mid-thirties. :)
Oh yeah.. well I loved getting around so much and sometimes I miss it.. but having a real home to come back to, and settling down is also nice. I never thought I would go back to Germany though... but Italy is not really a choice now with anti-gay politics.. with these conditions not many choices left. We live a little bit outside of Munich in a small village with many lakes around. So its a good place for now =)
There are so many dialects in the Netherlands… have a look here: Dialects in the Netherlands
Limburgs is like that… the northern Dutch people can not understand it hahaha 🤣
Yes… the big cities are harder. In a village where they speak their language you would have learned it so much faster.
More like Spain, France, Malta or even in Sweden. Even if I try to speak those languages they reply instandly in English. Thinking I’m english… but I am not hahaha
Yes, the english language will take over in the future. As it is so easy for many people to communicate in it.
Let’s say my parents moved a lot… I left home when I was 16 years old. After that, just life. Or work (hubby) related mainly the last 7 years. Not many were our choices.
I understand. It is such a shame. I hope it changes one day… that is, if you still want to move. Not many countries left I know.
I haven’t found “my” spot yet. How can I with so many moves throughout my entire life. We thought we would settle here but hubby hasn’t found a job yet in 1,5 + years. After we had to leave the UK. 🤨 So another move is probably needed. We will figure it out.
I did love the experiences and the things I learned. But now… I just want to settle. It is so time. I have to start my art studio up again. All my art materials are boxed up for about 4 years. We never stayed long enough anywhere to set up. I am an artist and photographer.
Hahaha another secret language I see. ;)
I am sure the village would have been much better. Also, people are way more relaxed and I wouldn't have to escape that often 😜☀️
Well, it is also a compliment for your English then ;) It sounds like you were on the run for a long time. What is your hubby working in that he has to travel that much? I hope you will find your spot soon.
Yeah, I know what you mean.. traveling so much moving all the time getting out of your comfort zone so many times makes you strong and flexible. You see so much, experience a lot, meet many people, and get to know yourself also - a lot ;) - that is nice for some time, but at some point, you just want to feel at home and relax for a moment. It´s hard to never really settle for a long time... make yourself home I mean - like setting up your art space - So I cross my fingers for you to find "your spot" soon where you are comfortable, can relax, and do your things. What kind of art do you do?
Looking forward to know more about it @littlebee4. 🐝🐝 - now I know why you also enjoyed doing the pumpkins so much 😎☀️
Haha probably.
I like living in villages or even more remote. Nicer neighbours for sure. More nature too.
Thank you so much 😊 right now, he would be happy with anything.
Let’s hope we find our spot.
Exactly like all of that. Maybe it is also getting older… doing our thing and wanting a veggie garden, building a cabin for our selves. Settle… for once. We still can travel. Just I wish the moving stopped. A base is so needed.
A few examples of my work :
“Here we go…”
“longing eyes”
“Burning Desire” this one has been published in a large worldwide magazine in english and german. I wrote the step by step.
I airbrush, paint and draw with many mediums and techniques… on many surfaces even cars and motorcycles or walls.
I love being creative but also being technical in many other ways. I can build houses and fix cars hahaha 🤣
Have a nice Monday 😎
