RE: It Smells Like...Amsterdam!

in Worldmappinlast year

Haha, I think Arthur's been talking to all of us as we're having a rest day today. Yesterday's visit to Den Haag (The Hague) saw me doing just over 10 200 steps!
Yep, we saw a couple of coffeeshops there as well, but nothing like Amsterdam, and no pungent smoky aromas wafting from those windows!

There is a nature reserve about 500 metres from my son's apartment, yet it's only a 5-minute walk to the local shops, same with the train station, which is only a 2-minute ride to the closest city. They were very fortunate to find such a spacious apartment in a tree-lined street.

We're encountering many hazardous staircases here, just like Anne Frank House. Arthur and I watched the TV mini-series called A Small Light which tells the story of Miep Gies, the Dutch lady who risked her life to shelter the Frank family and other Jewish people, very good series.

It gets dark here much later than by us, even though they're already well into autumn.
Evening strolls sound very good, something we cannot do in my home country because of the crime! Terribly sad!

Arthur is telling me I'm talking too much, so I will let you go :):)

Have a great Sunday my friend, and a big hug to Robin!

Sounds like a very convenient area for doing much of what needs to be done and for getting out and about for pleasure.

I'll be looking into that mini-series, it sounds like something Robin and I would totally enjoy.

Big hug right back at sweet Lizzie.
