RE: Visiting Lisbon Portugal

in Worldmappin2 years ago

Hey there!
Did you find the hanging bras more exciting than the hanging shoes that you've featured in your previous post?

I'm only a little bit surprised that you found some areas in Lisbon that rough. Somehow that's the impression I had of it, and then I started to get brainwashed by your recent visits to the coastal cities.

Safety is a HUGE concern for me when I travel, so I would be put off by what you encountered. I think it's fair to say it's not the ideal location for a woman traveling solo?

The overview photos are still attractive though.

I liked the shoes better but the bras were definitely unique and funny.

Yeah any large city is going to have its rough neighborhoods. It was fine in Lisbon but I wouldn't go out alone after dark. A solo female traveller might want to stick to the main touristy areas like the plaza and that area. I think that would be fine. But I wouldn't recommend wandering around alone at night. That probably goes for any major city though.
