I had the fortune to go to the town of Calderas, it is located in the state of Barinas, Venezuela, more than 400 kilometers from the city where I live, and well, the truth is that we went there because it has a very important nostalgic value for my mom, she spent there many important moments in her childhood and adolescence, but besides that it is also a very interesting tourist destination because the access is not so easy, it is important to have a car taking into account that public transport to that place can be scarce and that is something that keeps tourists away, things that makes it can sometimes be lonely.
The fact that it is surrounded by mountains makes the climate quite cool, an ideal 22 degrees during the day. Next, you will see the central square or Plaza Bolivar of the town, as it usually happens in this country, next to the square there is a large church which is where most religious activities take place. The square is small, but cozy, there are large trees that generate good shade for people who want to hang out.
From a place where we stopped for a drink, I was able to take pictures of the mountains surrounding the town, in the distance you can see mountain ranges that make you feel that they are infinite, they are lost in the distance. You can also see some of the vegetation that reigns in the area.
Being a mountainous town, it is normal that the streets are mostly steep, we had some difficulties because of that, but it was worth it to see the old architecture of the town.
Towards the outskirts of the town, you will find the spa “La Piedra del Patio”, it is necessary to go down a series of stairs to reach the place where people bathe with the icy water that comes down from the mountains, I had the opportunity to bathe there and I must say that it was not an easy process as I felt like I was freezing (I'm exaggerating haha). The crystal clear water flows very smoothly and the trees surrounding the river provide a nice shade, although I must say that in such an instance it is important that the sun does its job. The abundant rocks are perfect for sitting and watching the water flow through your feet.
I must say that I lived a very special moment in that town, the fresh air, the good weather, the warmth of its people and the good company made this trip very complete. I would like to return one day to walk again through its streets, but the most important thing is that my mom has the opportunity to return again to this place that has so much value for her.

I had the opportunity to make a short stop in this beautiful town when I was going to Merida and I thought I was already in the state of Merida but it was still Barinas, I thought so because of the type of climate and vegetation of the place, but it is certainly a beautiful town that is worth knowing much more.
