RE: Pinar del Río in the golden hour

There is a Club of classic car owners who only use original parts on their vehicles. Of course this is very expensive, they repair them or import them.

But there is a big part that are the ones that work as cabs for people like me (boteros, we call them), those, they have engines from Lada, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, whatever... and you only see them on the outside, so old and classic, but they are really something else.

I'm not saying that those who can't buy those parts, or can't find a way to re-engineer, don't repair the original engines. They have to do it, they have no choice. But those also entail a lot of expense. And remember that these are hard times, serious fuel problems. They preferred to convert those cars so that they could run on oil, for example, and not gasoline.

But why do I talk so much about cars if I don't know anything about this hahaha... I have only heard some things around, on the street, from the cab drivers themselves.

Heheehe... It looks like you are a "hidden old cars fan"! 😃

Thanks for sharing the info! In either case (original parts, non-original parts), it's great to see those cars on the streets! Much better than these new, plastic toys... :P

They look nice, yes. And they give a touch to the cities stopped in time.

Bye... ;)
