Viva Vittoria a square against violence against women. (ENG/ESP)

Good morning hivers, a few days ago in the central square of my hometown a magnificent demonstration was held by an association that deals with combating violence against women, this demonstration has been held for some years by the Viva Vittoria association to which all the proceeds are donated.
This association has been fighting violence against women for years and has chosen the magnificent Piazza del Duomo in Pistoia for this event, one of the oldest medieval squares in Tuscany. Piazza del Duomo is a stone square with the Duomo of Pistoia and its large tower that stands out on the square and can be visited together with the bell tower for a few days a week, the square is surrounded by ancient buildings and is the heart of Pistoia, home to markets, fairs and exhibitions. Also home to the ancient town hall which contains precious statues by local artists and beautiful frescoed rooms. For this occasion the square became a magical place, many women dedicated themselves for months to hand-knit blankets and crochet squares, unfortunately I am a no-go with crochet and so I could not participate, however it took months and the work of many young and old women who lent their manual labor for a just cause, in fact it was possible to buy the blankets and the money went to charity for abused women. The square became a magnificent giant blanket, colorful, beautiful, yes you walked on colors, a truly unique experience that made the square even more beautiful and special. It seemed like being in a fairytale world and luckily after days of rain weather alerts that day the weather was decent! I leave you with some photos of the beautiful square decorated for the occasion, taken together with my mother @silviabeneforti who kept me company amd my friend chris on this day since my husband was unable to due to his knee dislocation.

Nice one

Thanks 😊

You are welcome

Gracias a ti 😊😁

Wow I'm so attracted to the beauty it's so amazing ❤️

A silent demonstration that carried the cries of the women victims.
I was delighted that they chose that place, because being a tourist area, the message was not only for the locals, but for the whole planet.

Love this! What a brilliant idea. We have a program in South Africa called 67 blankets which is for a similar cause. And now there is a specific company that makes long form yarn called 67 blankets and various colours and styles. Fantastic that this charity can support women in such a great way.

It's really amazing ♥️
