Around Bosnia and Herzegovina no. 4 – Kravica waterfalls

Many years ago, when I was interested in attractions in the Balkans, I found something incredibly beautiful, namely the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. Unfortunately, apart from its unquestionable advantages, this complex of waterfalls and lakes is full of tourists, admission to it is not one of the cheapest attractions and you cannot swim in them. Then I found information that in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina there is a twin (well, maybe a little smaller) facility, where there are almost no tourists, admission is free and you can do whatever you want in it, i.e. swim wherever you want. This facility was the Kravica waterfalls located in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It so happened that after four days of constant driving through various mountains of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was time for a little break. Our guide planned a regular drive to the aforementioned waterfall complex on asphalt roads and gave us half a day of free time. Because the day was very hot, even though the water in the waterfalls was very cold, I decided to swim in the lakes at the bottom of the waterfalls without a moment's hesitation. Interestingly, almost only small children were swimming in the water that day, which I don't know if it indicates that children are more resistant to low water temperatures? I don't know.

Nasz przewodnik zaplanował nam zwykły dojazd drogami asfaltowymi do wspomnianego kompleksu wodospadów i dać pół dnia czasu wolnego.

The Kravica Waterfalls are actually a large water cascade on the Trebižat River, which is 25 meters high. And its length at the base is as much as 120 meters. Interestingly, the waterfall is currently privately owned and belongs to the Ljubuški city councilor called Zaim-beg Selimić. The downside is that currently the entrance to the waterfalls is no longer free, but the fee charged is not very high anyway. In exchange for the commercialization of this place, at the foot of the waterfalls there are cafes, restaurants, picnic areas, and a campsite and a camping site a little further away.

Plitvice falls I heard of them often I love so much Croatia I will go there next week by the way these falls are super!!

Such nice waterfalls! I hope they don't over-commercialize though and retain the surrounding natural beauty.
