Namaste 🙏
Have you ever felt so much peace being in a place and seeing the sunset that you forgot about everything else?
Have you ever got mesmerised by the beauty of the nature that you even forgot about the time?
If not then, have you ever seen a sunset from top of a Himalayan mountain in early fall days?
In this blog I’m gonna write about my experience of being in above mentioned states mentally and physically being in top of a Himalayan mountain to witness the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen and felt in my life.
I personally believe that just seeing a beautiful view is not just enough. You have to process it mentally and emotionally to fully experience the magic that it has to offer. That’s what happened with me here!!!
I was with my brother and father descending down from a high altitude Himalayan mountain after summiting it the same day.
This feeling of accomplishment alone was euphoric for me, also, feeling it with the people closest to me made it multiple a thousand times.
But on our way back home, I got to see the best view I’ve seen in my life. Sun was setting behind the mighty Hanuman Tibba peak in Dhauladhar range.
This is the mountain range that I’ve admired since my childhood days and seeing it upfront with sun setting behind it and that too after summiting a high altitude mountain with my brother and father was just so much amazing.
There were so many elements involved in my euphoria that I can’t even express it in words.
We were about to enter the forest now. I had simply lost the sense of time in spite of us being late. I was busy admiring the beauty of the nature and trying to be one with it!
Seeing trees after a long descent —
There were sheep gazing on the mountain that looked like tiny pieces of wool scattered everywhere randomly. They were shining in the long sun rays of the setting sun.
On moving a little further, I was able to see some horses gazing around a little pond and enjoying the sunset just like we did!
Entering the forest—
I looked up towards the Dhauladhar range to witness the kind of view that I will never forget in my life. It just looked phenomenal.
We were now about to enter the forest and now we only had a few minutes of light left. It was still a couple ours of expected descent left so we were quite late.
We looked back one last time to see how far we’ve come. We were not able to see the peak from there that made us realise how far we’ve gone!!!
I took as many photos of the Dhauladhar range as I could before the trails made by sunset slowly started to disappear.
Now we were about to enter the forest and luckily we got to the exact trail from where we came up. The trail marking confirmed that we were on the right path.
We were soon about to reach Shaga Dugh and I couldn’t wait to see those mid sized bushes under the evening sunshine.
We rushed to reach there as soon as possible and luckily we made it before sunset. The place was really looking so dreamy.
The light was slowly dimming as sun was setting behind the Dhauladhar range of the mighty Himalayas.
We were now in the middle of the forest and sun was about to set. This thought made us worry for a while as it was already fall season. During winters, wild animals like bears and leopards come to lower elevations specially in the forest to save themselves from the harsh cold temperatures that higher mountains offer.
To overcome from this fear, we turned on the Bluetooth speaker we had with us to play some loud music. Doing this altered the wild animals not to come near us and this reduced our chances of sudden attacks.
In spite of that, we were still careful while walking through the dense bushes. The bushes were more scary than they were beautiful.
After a while we reached a place with small bushes and there I could manage to take this beautiful photo of friendship peak from my phone.
The area with small bushes got covered only in a few minutes only to reveal this beautiful place with tea plantation like bushes.
This area looked so beautiful that I completely forgot about the dangers it could’ve carried within it. I didn’t wanted to be worried this time so I walked there worry free only enjoying the view I was seeing in front of my eyes.
The sun was down now and we still had a few kilometres of hike down the mountain through the dangerous forest. I was quite confident that we’d make it safely through all the challenges.
This is my favourite photo from all the photos I posted in this blog. I’m thinking of framing this one as it holds such a great value for me.
The thumbnail is made using canva app and all photos are captured by me using my iPhone 14.
I’m gonna write about my journey through the forest in dark in next blog.
That’s all for today.
Peace ☮️
