When summer comes, we are happy. Maybe not all of us, but most of us for sure. I'm happy too. Summer is joy, sun, warmth, vacation and happiness. Plus, summer is delicious.
Every year, at the beginning of summer, when the first ripe and sweet berries appear, my family and I go to self-pick strawberries. It's very cool and fun. And not because it's cheaper to buy strawberries than in the store. Because it's kind of romantic.
There are a lot of such strawberry self-collection points in Slovakia. But almost all of them have the same principle. It is best to go on weekdays and in the morning (until it is very hot). But since we work on weekdays, and in the mornings we like to sleep longer, we usually go at lunch on Saturday.
It works like this. We arrive at the parking lot and park. You can come with your own boxes and buckets, or you can take a basket for 1 euro at the self-collection point itself. Then we are told in which field the strawberries are ready for picking and we go there. Despite the fact that there are quite a lot of people, there are enough strawberries for everyone.
It's actually cheaper than in the store. Strawberries on the field are very sweet and fragrant. On the field you can eat as many berries as you want (free). Also, in addition to strawberries, you can collect green young peas and lavender.
If you come to Slovakia during the strawberry season, be sure to go to the field. I am sure you will be satisfied.

Yes, what happens is that the climate varies in some regions of my country and that depends on what things you grow and also if you have a lot of water, where I am, it is very hot and the land is a bit arid.
