Hello everyone , have a nice day
I had a trip to Ly Son Island. It was a memorable experience. Honestly, this trip was beyond my original plan. This holiday, I was planning to go back to Dalat to avoid the sweltering heat in Da Nang. When I was about to go, my best friend invited me to Ly Son Island. Then I canceled my train ticket to Da Lat and prepared to go to Ly Son Island the next day.
Ly Son is an island in Quang Ngai province. I took a bus from Da Nang to Quang Ngai. Next, I bought a boat ticket to Ly Son Island. The price for this ticket is about 10 dollars.
My first impression was the landscape here. Unlike Phu Quoc, an island developed in tourism with many hotels and resorts, Ly Son has a natural and primitive beauty.
Especially the beaches. The beaches here are beautiful and kept clean, comparable to the beaches in Danang. Sunrise or sunset on Ly Son island, every moment has its beauty. I love watching the sea at these times. It gives me a feeling of peace and comfort. During my 3-day trip to Ly Son, I always watched the sunrise and sunset here.
The sea here is more dangerous than in Da Nang, so swimming activity is limited. But you can surf in this sea. There are several safe areas where you can freely play water sports. The waves will be very high if you play in the right season.
The beaches in Ly Son Island have big cliffs covered with moss. That cannot be found at the public beaches in Danang city. They also have many big pebbles and grits, making beach activities uncomfortable. I think that's why the beaches in Ly Son are underrated compared to the others in Da Nang.
But on the other hand, for people who want to go to the beach to seesighting the scenery or enjoy the fresh air like me, it is an ideal location. The sea in Ly Son is poetic, far from noisy areas. The population here is few, so this place is also comfortable and suitable for anyone who needs a quiet space to rest and relax on holidays.
Ly Son Island has a unique agricultural product. It becomes a typical symbol when someone mentions Ly Son. That is Cô Đơn garlic. Cô Đơn means single or lonely. Because each garlic plant only grows one clove. This garlic type costs about 5 to 10 times higher than other garlic. And some delicious seafood that you should try are pufferfish and sea urchins. Fresh seafood here will make any diner satisfied.
In Ly Son, there is a pagoda. This pagoda was built in a cave. And its name is Hang, which means cave in English. The Hang pagoda is a national historical relic. Although it does not have splendid architecture, the pagoda has its own beauty. This pagoda has adequate space, including many interconnected areas. The main attraction for me is the simplicity of the pagoda. You can see people making the most of the cave to replace halls. There are no pillars, tiled roofs, elaborately carved gates, and walls. Hang Pagoda has only altars and Buddha statues to worship. This idea created a space that is both quiet and mystical. I had a strange feeling when visiting this spiritual site, a little thrill and a little curiosity.
Hang Pagoda originated as a pagoda of the Cham people to worship the Brahmin gods. When the Vietnamese came to explore the land of Ly Son in the early 17th century, the pagoda became a place to worship Buddha.
That's all I experienced during my 3-day trip to Ly Son island. I hope you will enjoy this post. If you come to Vietnam, let's visit Ly Son Island, the friendly local people will always welcome you.
