Hi Everyone,
In the middle of Shibamata, Taishakuten Sando is where some traditional items and treats are seen. This beautiful Japanese street lined with traditional wooden buildings and shops with freshly cooked snacks great for the winter weather is very close to Taishakuten Temple.
A few shops were closed maybe due to the holiday season, which we noticed with fewer visitors around. Many visitors were locals with only a handful of us from abroad. The street is full of vendors selling snacks like grilled dango (sweet rice dumplings), senbei (crispy rice crackers), or taiyaki (fish-shaped pastries filled with red bean paste). There are restaurants for those who don’t want to have street food but I find them a little overpriced.
In addition to food, shops sold many handcrafted goods, such as ukiyo-e prints, traditional wooden toys, and hand-painted ceramics. This was interesting for our kids as they weren’t the traditional toys they see at the shops; they loved the colours.
It is not a very popular stop for many visitors but we like to go to the outskirts to see less popular sites. They are though loved by local Japanese which we love. It was a pleasure to walk through the Sando with no crowds, and no noise, it was a lovely experience.

What is the toys or snacks on the title photo?
From far point of view it reminds Russian matryoshka. But it seems something like from angry birds
They are considered toys/feature item. Its a traditional doll but not sure where to put it :)
