Hi!
It's been a long time since I've published new stories about my travels. There were objective reasons for this, which did not allow me to do this.
Life sometimes puts up a lot of obstacles for us to learn a useful lesson from this. Therefore, if something like this happens to you, my friends, then you should not despair. Eventually, everything will fall into place and everything will be fine. Be patient.
And today I will share with you photos of the beautiful church, which is located in Belarus, in the city of Nesvizh.
This is the first church of the Jesuit Order in the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
The architect of the church is the Italian architect Giovanni Bernardoni.
He was a Jesuit monk himself and the first Baroque architect in Eastern Europe.
The church was built at the end of the 16th century. Giovanni himself did not live to see the end of construction, and the dome of the temple was already completed by his pupil, Giuseppe Brisio.
The full name of the church is the Corpus Christi Church. Another name is the Orthodox Church.
The main facade of the building is decorated with magnificent sculptures, which are located in special niches.
Initially, the exterior walls of the church were white, but after the restoration they were painted to look like marble. Now the elements of the exterior decor look more contrasting. It was probably a good decision.
Inside, the church is decorated with magnificent frescoes. Some of them are made using some kind of three-dimensional technique and the viewer gets the illusion of a three-dimensional image of flat elements.
You can't stop being surprised by the talent of this artist and the amount of work done. Surprisingly, these frescoes survived several wars and were not lost.
On the main altar is the "Last Supper" by Xavier Dominic of Hesse. That's why the church calls the Bodies of the Lord.
The church even has a small organ of its own. But I do not know if he is acting or not.
The church is the tomb of the Radziwill dynasty. The church was built by order of Nikolai Radziwill Sirotka. He was also able to get permission from the pope to make a family tomb in the church.
Next to the church is a chapel built in the middle of the 18th century by the Italian architect Maurizio Pedetti for the grandfather of the Russian writer Thaddeus Venediktovich Bulgarin.
It is currently in the woods, undergoing restoration.
If you have the opportunity to visit this church, be sure to do so.
