Hey travelers!
After Pompeii back to tell you about 3 days in Rome and the Vatican. I think it's one of the cities that receives the most tourists in the world from what I remember seeing when I was planning that part of the trip.
The itinerary of the points we went to visit:

Roma
This one has something to tell, you can make a post for each place, but I'll try to summarize it here, and if you want, I'll show you more photos from each point of the city later.
Why so much Colosseum? you must be wondering, well, how it is right in the center and was on the way to almost everywhere we wanted to visit, so always a stop to appreciate this grandeur of art and engineering.
But we like to try to go one way and come back the other way, that way we can discover new places.
We wish we could have gone to more places, but walking the second day after a minor scooter accident was a little difficult to walk.
Day 1
On the first day, after that Doppio Espresso, we went exploring the streets of Rome towards the Colosseum, one of the most famous sights in Rome.
I was impressed by its size, even more so after seeing the Amphitheater of Pompeii, which I had already found large, this one was even more impressive. Imagine how many stories have rolled around there...
Beautiful in the morning, afternoon and evening... when the sun goes down and the lights start to come up, it creates an atmosphere too beautiful to capture. Further ahead there are photos of the Colosseo.
According to maps, we walked 25km that day, during the trip I remembered that I could have turned on actifit.io, but then I remembered that I didn't have my keys easily and I let it go.
Next big tourist spot is the Trevi Fountain, one of the most famous fountains in the world, again what a beauty! Architecture, sculptures, positioning between 3 main avenues and that crowd passing by, it really is something indescribable.

Now comes my dear Pantheon. I always wanted to see this temple and I've seen several documentaries about its engineering curiosities and I wanted to see this work up close.
Not just the architectural structure, but the energy of it as a whole. Inside we were greeted by musicians from an orchestra that were rehearsing. The acoustics are really impressive, better than many modern buildings. The works of art and the stories there fascinated me.
It has one of the largest concrete domes in the world, built over 2000 years ago and demonstrates an excellent knowledge of ancient Roman engineering and architecture.
The oculus, which is the circular opening at the top of the dome, allows natural light to illuminate the interior, creating a breathtaking effect. Even the rain gets in and it has an effective drainage system.
Next stop... Castel Sant'Angelo, a fortress overlooking the Tiber River.
The bridge leading to the castle, known as Ponte Sant'Angelo, is adorned with ten beautiful statues of angels, each holding an instrument symbolic of the Passion of Christ.
Right there... the Vatican... we're going to change countries but we'll be right back...

There's nothing to talk about either, beautiful temple. But as beautiful as I think, I can't really like religious temples. Even though I am a Catholic by upbringing, I consider myself much more spiritual than religious.
It is one of the smallest countries in the world and a huge square where the Pope's masses take place. It is interesting that there is a post office there and people have the habit of writing letters and sending them from the Vatican to family members.
You can also find different souvenirs themed around the Pope, Jesus and other religious accessories, such as pens, stamps, coins...
It was worth the quick visit. Let's continue because it's almost sunset time and we've booked a special spot to visit and watch the sunset.
Sunset Break
To watch the sunset, we went to the Belvedere del Gianicolo, a high point overlooking the entire city.

A very large square, with monuments and we noticed that people gather there at sunset, already being a place known by the Romans, where several food trucks, musicians, friends and couples gather.
After a wonderful sunset, we head to the bohemian neighborhood of Rome, called Trastevere. It reminded us a lot of the Vila Madalena neighborhood in São Paulo with its bars, restaurants and that young energy walking around eating and drinking with friends, in a very relaxed atmosphere to celebrate a lot.

We walked around the neighborhood, between graffitied walls, several bars and restaurants and lively people while we decided where to eat.
We chose the Mozzichi Trastevere Restaurant, which when we passed in front of it, to our surprise a known language... we were well received by an attendant who works there.
It was a pleasure to hear Portuguese after a long time being served in Italian. This allowed us to talk a lot, including the owner who also speaks Portuguese, welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home.
We started by ordering a tagliere, a plate filled with a selection of cured meats, cheeses and appetizers that were incredible. this accompanied by good wines that Mozzichi had to offer. We let the boss decide and he really pleased us with the chosen wines.
The night progressed and our appetite grew and we couldn't resist trying a hamburger that was juicy, tasty and very well served, exceeding expectations.
I definitely recommend this restaurant, you can visit without error. Exceptional food and service. IG mozzichi.trastevere
After eating and drinking, we went on our night tour of the city, we wanted to see all the sights at night as well, as the city lighting creates a very beautiful atmosphere. The lighting of the city at night is magnificent.
We returned passing by the Pantheon, Fontana di Trevi, Coliseum and that's where another perrengue of the trip happened. We decided to rent a scooter to get back to the Hotel.
It was another fun night. Doing maneuvers, going up and down and enjoying the virtually empty streets of Rome.
However, the streets of Rome combined with the wines and the scooter, it was not a good combination. I fell and grazed my hand and hit my rib, and of course accompanied by the laughter of my friend crying with laughter. But as karma is instantaneous, he soon had an accident, also hitting his knee, that's it, two hospitalized in Rome.
But like good gladiators and nothing can shake us, we decided to drop the scooter and take a bike, being a better choice to walk the streets of Rome. That part between us became known as the "battle of the Coliseum" with Scooter 2x0 result! haha
It's no wonder there's been some discussion going on about banning scooters, they're fast and cobbled streets or streets with holes like those in Rome don't help much.

Day 2
Well, after sleeping, recovery day... me feeling pain in my ribs and my friend in his knee, we decided to take it easy that day. I could walk normally but he was having a little trouble. Thankfully, no one needed a hospital, but if they did, we had our travel insurance up to date, so it's always important to take out travel insurance.
With every laugh I had, and there were many!, the rib reminded me of the scooter. We laughed about our battle at the Colosseum. hahaha oh my rib!
We took the opportunity to eat a lot, replenish energy... in Rome, several restaurants to try.
We began to notice that several people had bandaged hands or arms and scratches on their legs. I guess we weren't the only ones who had their battles in Rome.
It wasn't anything serious, but it was good to recover, because we were frantic these days and nights and there was still much more, it wasn't this time that the scooter was going to take us out of the war!
So we decided to explore the center more, its restaurants and some parks, including Colle Oppio Park and going back to the Coliseum, really sitting outside and watching people go by, transported me to the middle ages imagining everything that went on there before a show inside the coliseum. I imagined people selling, buying and discussing how the battles inside that Monster would be.
In and around the Coliseum, while sitting on the benches with several other people, you could feel the magnitude of Roman history. Arches and pillars everywhere. And the Trevi Fountain did not disappoint with its impressive beauty.

To end the day, more restaurants and wines... without much adventure.
Dia 3
Feeling a little better on the third day...we decided to walk more. We walked in the other direction towards the Circo Massimo, a stadium that was used for horse and carriage racing.
We pass through the Campo de Fiori region, where there is a large fair with various flowers and spices. Juices among other things. and Piazza Navona, another very beautiful and well-preserved square.
A little further and we arrive at Castel Sant'Angelo. What a beautiful castle. Something I remember well was a police car that was parked next to the park.
I went to unfurl my broken Italian with the cops asking if I could take a picture of the car for my collection of police car pics of the places I visit.

Not knowing what to expect, they were super polite and attentive, got out of the car and even suggested angles to take the pictures that would look good. I loved. They were very kind and one more photo for the collection.
Despite the accident, it was amazing to go through Rome. When you think about it, even the accident created more unforgettable memories of the trip and more laughs when you tell your friends.
It was really cool to get to know the bustling city of Rome, being able to feel that energy of an ancient big city that works very well.
I could also not fail to comment on the sources of drinking water throughout the city. I was told that they take very good care of the water and do several tests to find out if the fountains have clean water. Take your bottle to refill and save a few euros.
Everything was a unique experience, with its grandeur, architecture and impressive details Rome really is a beautiful city.
The Pantheon was another highlight, with its impressive concrete and marble dome, as well as artistic and historic details. And Castel Sant'Angelo, with its wonderful view of the city, conveyed a sense of peace and tranquility that contrasted with the hustle and bustle of the city.
I really enjoyed Rome and I hope you did too. I already want to go back to explore even more and beat the scooter this time.

Depois de Pompeii de volta pra contar como foram 3 dias em Roma e Vaticano. Acho que é uma das cidades que mais recebe turistas no mundo pelo que lembro de ter visto quando estava planejando essa parte da viagem.

Essa tem coisa pra contar, da pra fazer post pra cada lugar, mas vou tentar resumir aqui, e se quiser, depois mostro mais fotos de cada ponto da cidade.
Porque tanto o Coliseu? deve estar se perguntando, bem, como ele fica bem no centro e estava no caminho de quase todos os lugares que queríamos visitar, portanto, sempre uma parada para apreciar essa grandiosidade da arte e engenharia.
Mas gostamos de tentar ir por um caminho e voltar por outro, dessa forma conseguimos descobrimos lugares novos.
Queriamos ter ido para mais lugares, mas andar no segundo dia depois de um pequeno acidente com patinete foi um pouco difícil andar.
Dia 1
No primeiro dia, depois daquele Doppio Espresso, fomos explorar as ruas de Roma em direção ao Coliseu, um dos pontos turísticos mais famosos de Roma.
Fiquei impressionado com seu tamanho, ainda mais depois de ver o Anfiteatro de Pompeia, que já tinha achado grande, esse foi mais impressionante ainda. Imagina quantas histórias já rolaram por alí...
Lindo de manhã, de tarde e de noite... quando o sol se põe e as luzes começam a ascender, cria uma atmosfera muito linda para ser registrada. Mais pra frente tem as fotos do Colosseo.
De acordo com maps, andamos 25km aquele dia, durante viagem lembrei que poderia ter ligado o actifit.io, Mas ai lembrei que não estava com minhas chaves fácil e deixei pra lá.
Próximo grande ponto turístico é a Fonte de Trevi, uma das fontes mais famosas do mundo, novamente, que beleza! Arquitetura, esculturas, posicionamento entre 3 grandes avenidas principais e aquela multidão passando por alí, realmente é algo indescritível.

Agora vem o meu querido Pantheon. Sempre tinha vontade de conheçer esse templo e já vi diversos documentários sobre, suas curiosidades de engenharia e queria ver essa obra de perto.
Não somente a estrutura arquitetonica, mas a energia dele como um todo. Lá dentro fomos recebidos com músicos de uma orquesta que estavam ensaiando. A acustica realmente impressiona, melhor que muitos prédios modernos. As obras de arte e as histórias por ali me fascinou.
Ele tem um dos maiores domos de concreto do mundo, construido a mais de 2000 anos atás e demonstra um excelente conhecimento de engenharia e arquitetura dos antigos Romanos.
O oculus, que é a abertura circular no topo da cúpula, permite que a luz natural ilumine o interior, criando um efeito de tirar o fôlego. Até mesmo a chuva entra e tem um sistema de escoamento efetivo.
Próxima parada... Castel Sant'Angelo, uma fortaleza com vista para o rio Tiber.
A ponte que leva ao castelo, conhecida como Ponte Sant'Angelo, é adornada com dez belas estátuas de anjos, cada uma segurando um instrumento simbólico da Paixão de Cristo.
Já ali bem pertinho... o Vaticano... vamos mudar de pais mas já voltamos...

Também não tem o que falar, lindos templo. Mas por mais belo que acho, não consigo gostar muito de templos religiosos. Mesmo sendo católico de criação, me considero muito mais espiritual do que religioso.
Ele é um dos menores paises do mundo e uma praça enorme onde ocorre as missas do Papa. Interessante que lá tem um correio e as pessoas tem costume de escrever cartas e enviar do vaticano para familiares.
Você também poderá encontrar diferentes souveniers com tema do Papa, Jesus entre outros aderessos religiosos, como canetas, selos, moedas...
Valeu a visita rápida. Vamos continuar porque está quase na hora do por do sol e agendamos um ponto especial para visitar e assistir o por do sol.
Sunset Break
Para assistir o por do sol, fomos no Bevedere del Gianicolo, um ponto alto com vista para toda a cidade.

Uma praça bem grande, com monumentos e perecebemos que as pessoas se reunem alí no por do sol, já sendo um local conhecido pelos Romanos, onde vários food trucks, musicos, amigos e casais se reunem.
Depois de um por do sol maravilhoso, seguimos para o bairro boemio de Roma, chamado de Trastevere. Nos lembrou muito do bairro da Vila Madalena em São Paulo com seus bares, restaurantes e aquela energia jovevm andando comendo e bebendo com amigos, em um ambiente bem descontraidos para comemorar bastante.

Andamos pelo bairro, entre muros grafitados, diversos bares e restaurantes e pessoas animadas enquanto decidiamos onde comer.
Escolhemos o Restaurante Mozzichi Trastevere, que quando passamos em frente, para nossa surpresa um idioma conhecido... fomos bem recebido por um atendente que trabalha lá.
Foi uma agradável ouvir o português depois de muito tempo sendo atendido em Italiano. Isso nos permitiu conversar muito, inclusive o dono que também fala português, nos recebeu calorosamente e nos fez sentir em casa.
Iniciamos pedindo um tagliere, um prato recheado com uma seleção de carnes curadas, queijos e antepastos que estava incrível. isso acompanhado de bons vinhos que Mozzichi tinha para oferecer. Deixamos o chefe decidir e ele nos agradou muito com os vinhos escolhidos.
A noite avançava e o nosso apetite cresceu e não resistimos a experimentar um hambúrguer que estava suculento, saboroso e muito bem servido superando as expectativas.
Com certeza eu recomendo esse restaurante, pode visitar sem erro. Comida e atendimento excepcional. IG mozzichi.trastevere
Depois de comer e beber, fomos para nosso passeio noturno pela cidade, queriamos conhecer todos os pontos turisticos também de noite, já que a iluminação da cidade cria uma atmosfera muito linda. A iluminação da cidade de noite é magnifica.
Voltamos passando pelo Pantheon, Fontana di Trevi, Coliseu e foi ai que aconteceu mais um perrengue da viagem. Decidimos alugar um patinete para voltar para o Hotel.
Foi mais uma diversão da noite. Fazendo manobras, subindo e descendo e aproveitando as ruas de Roma praticamente vazias.
Porem, as ruas de roma somando com os vinhos tomados e o patinete, não foi uma boa combinação. Eu cai e ralei a mão e bati a costela, e claro acompanhada de gargalhadas do amigo chorando de rir. Mas como o karma é instantaneo, ele logo se acidentou também batendo o joelho, pronto, dois hospitalizados em Roma.
Mas como bons gladiadores e nada nos abala, decidimos largar o patinete e pegar uma bike, sendo uma escolha melhor para andar pelas ruas de Roma. Essa parte entre nós ficou conhecida como a "batalha do Coliseu" com resultado Patinete 2x0! haha
Não é a toa que esta rolando algumas discussão sobre proibir patinetes, eles são velozes e ruas de pedras ou com buracos como as de Roma nao ajudam muito.

Dia 2
Bom, depois de dormir, dia de recuperação... eu sentindo dor nas costelas e meu amigo no joelho, decidimos pegar leve nesse dia. Eu conseguia andar normalmente mas ele estava com um pouco de dificuldades. Ainda bem que ninguem precisou de hospital, mas se precisasse, estavamos com o seguro viagem em dia, por isso sempre importante fazer um seguro viagem.
A cada risada que dava, e eram muitas!, a costela me lembrava do patinete. Riamos sobre nossa batalha no Coliseu. hahaha ai minha costela!
Aproveitamos para comer bastante, repor energias... em Roma, vários restaurantes para experimentar.
Começamos a perceber que varias pessoas estavam com as mãos ou braços enfaixados e com arranhados nas pernas. Acho que não fomos os únicos que tiveram suas batalhas em Roma.
Não foi estava nada grave, mas era bom recuperar, pois estavamos fenéticos esses dias e noites e ainda tinha muito mais, nao foi dessa vez que o patinete iria nos tirar da guerra!
Então decidimos explorar mais o centro, seus restaurantes e alguns parques, incluindo o Parque Colle Oppio e voltando para o Coliseu, realmente sentar ali fora e ficar vendo as pessoas passando, me transportou para idade média imaginando tudo que rolava por alí antes de um espetáculo lá dentro do coliseu. Imaginei pessoas vendendo, comprando e discutindo sobre como seria as batalhas dentro daquele Monstro.
No Coliseu e ali por perto, enquanto sentado nos bancos junto com diversas outras pessoas, dava pra sentir magnitude da história romana. Arcos e pilares por todo lado. E a Fonte de Trevi nío decepcionou com sua beleza impressionante.

Para encerrar o dia, mais restaurantes e vinhos... sem muita aventura.
Dia 3
Nos sentindo um pouco melhor no terceiro dia... decidimos andar mais. Fomos andando em outra direçío no sentido para o Circo Massimo, um estádio que era usado para corrida de cavalos e charretes.
Passamos pela região do Campo de Fiori, onde tem uma grande feira com diversas flores e especiarias. Sucos entre outras coisas. e a Piazza Navona, outra praça muito linda e bem conservada.
Mais um pouco e já chegamos no Castel Sant'Angelo. Que castelo lindo. Algo que me recordo bem, era de um carro de polícia que estava estacionando proximo ao parque.
Eu fui desenrolar meu italiano arruginito com os policiais perguntando se poderia tirar uma foto do carro para minha coleção de fotos de carros de policia dos lugares que visito.

Não sabendo o que esperar, eles foram super educados e atenciosos, sairam do carro e até sugeriu angulos para tirar as fotos que ficariam legais. Adorei. Foram muito gentis e mais uma foto para coleção.
Apesar do acidente, foi incrível passar por Roma. Pensando bem, até o acidente fez criar mais memórias inesqueciveis da viagem e mais risadas quando contamos para amigos.
Foi realmente mutio legal conhecer a agitada cidadde de Roma, podendo sentir aquela energia de uma antiga cidade grande que funciona muito bem.
Não poderia também deixar de comentar sobre as fontes de água potável por toda cidade. Me falaram que eles cuidam muito bem da água e fazem vários testes para saber se as fontes estío com água limpa. Leve sua garrafa para reabastecer e economizar alguns euros.
Tudo era uma experiencia única, com sua grandeza, arquitetura e detalhes impressionantes Roma realmente é uma linda cidade.
O Panteão foi outro destaque, com sua impressionante cúpula de concreto e mármore, bem como detalhes artísticos e históricos. E o Castel Sant'Angelo, com sua maravilhosa vista da cidade, transmitiu uma sensaçío de paz e tranquilidade que contrastava com a agitaçío da cidade.
Gostei muito de Roma e espero que você também tenha gostado. Já quero voltar para explorar ainda mais e dar porrada no patinete dessa vez.

Visiting Rome is amazing in most of the time of the year. The hardest part is to find a period that is not so crowded with tourists just to enjoy the beauty of the place and surroundings without having lots of people covering your sight. I really want to see Rome one day but I'm always in doubt about the period so I tend to keep postponing it..
I see. Same for me. Less tourist better. But Rome i don't think has period with less tourists, but the city traffic flow, so, just pack and go. Will not regret.
