RE: Not Quite Spring on Lake Superior - Whimsical Wisconsin

Cool. I lived in Madtown 92-95, so I totally get the extreme weather from -45 to -60 windchills in the winter to 125 heat index in the summer... not many places in the world where you get 180 degree swings like that! I've never seen an actual tornado yet, but I've watched the storms that produced them in Madtown - and even saw a weak funnel cloud in Wyoming, lol. But I love Wisconsin because of that, not in spite of. Though I'd rather be further north - like on Superior's shores - where I am now, on the edge of Da Northwoods, is pretty good too. (Though we did have a tornado warning in December!) You're not wrong about the best visiting times though! I returned in September. Strangely, it was my first time in Wisconsin that got me saying soda, not pop (which I grew up with on the North Oregon coast) and they say soda here as well... lol
Cheesecurds are awesome, btw! Strange, that growing up in another heavy dairy area, that we never had that luxury! (Tillamook being a major company in my hometown area - famous for awesome cheddar.) But now, I live near the origin of Colby cheese, so also awesome!

Thanks for visiting and watch out for deer!

Haha! I actually got the pop expression from my grandpa in Northern Illinois😝 We had tons of cheese curds in Southern Wisconsin, but my faves were the battered mushrooms😋 Funny enough, I've never even seen lake Superior, only lake Michigan. Never seen a tornado with my own eyes. Too busy hiding out in the basements lol😅 But had a few swirling around not so very far away😬 Did you do your studies in Madtown? I did from '87-'91 but stayed there till '96 when I left for France. Funny, just missed ya😃

I drifted there. I had entertained the thought of going back to school, but that never happened. I was there '92-'95 when my first husband finished up his computer engineering degree...
