Santa Clara, Cuba 🔆
We are in Santa Clara, a municipality on the Caribbean island of Cuba. It is known as the city of Martha Abreu and Che Guevara, due to its history.
Nos encontramos en Santa Clara, municipio de la isla caribeña de Cuba. Bautizada como la ciudad de Martha Abreu y el Che, debido a su historia.
Martha Abreu, a distinguished figure 🗽 for the people of Santa Clara, was their greatest benefactor. She owned the sugar mills🎋 in this area from 1845 onwards and was known for being very generous😇, even with the slaves who worked for her. Despite her family’s opposition🙅♂️ to her marriage to Luis Estévez from Matanzas due to his disadvantaged economic position📉, they finally married in 1874. This allowed her husband to become a lawyer⚖️ and eventually the vice president of the then-current republic. They donated all their family wealth to the construction of the current university in the province and traveled to Paris🥐. During a train journey on January 2, 1909, she passed away at the age of 63 in Paris, and her husband, after her death, took his own life to reunite with her💘.

Tras la oposición de su familia🙅♂️ a su matrimonio con el matancero Luis Estévez por su desventajada posición económica📉, finalmente se casan en 1874 permitiéndole a su esposo formarse como abogado⚖️ y llegar a ser vicepresidente de la actual república en ese momento. Donan todo el patrimonio familiar para la construcción de la actual universidad de la provincia y viajan a Paris🥐. Durante un recorrido en tren el 2 de enero de 1909 fallece a sus 63 años en Paris y su esposo tras su fallecimiento se quita la vida para reunirse con ella💘.
An example of neo-Gothic architecture 🕍, the Catholic Cathedral of Santa Clara or Cathedral of Santa Clara de Asís dazzles the eyes. Built in marble and adorned with beautiful and colorful stained glass windows, it showcases a duality of ancient splendor that remains to this day⌛.

University Botanical Garden 🌻 Jardín Botánico de la Universidad
I was able to enjoy the peace☮️ of the botanical garden while contemplating the calm of the waters💦 and the splendor that nature🍃 itself radiated. Although the city holds joy and warmth, nature teaches us the importance of simplicity🍂.
Pude disfrutar la paz☮️ del jardín botánico mientras contemplaba la calma de las aguas💦 y el esplendor que la naturaleza🍃 en si irradiaba. Aunque la ciudad guarda la alegría y la calidez, la naturaleza nos enseña la importancia de los sencillo🍂.
