G'day hive. Let me tell you a tale of our day trip to lady Elliot island with friends for my birthday. Which turned out to be some of the best snorkeling I had ever done! 🐠🐟🦈🤿
My bday was in May and this was the start of Mantaray season.
Lady Elliott island is known for it's large Mantaray population from May through til September.
I have never swam with a Mantaray so this is definitely something on my list!
The best way to get to Lady Elliott is by light plane.
It's crazy to think that we will charter a plane over to a paradise island.

🥈 Split adventure by @delishtreats
Our Croatian adventure is coming to an end, and today I will show you around Split which will be our last stop. Our hotel was located less than 15 minutes walk from the old town, and there was enough free time to enjoy, so I managed to go there many times. I bought 3 books in a local bookstore and everyday spent some time reading on a bench somewhere in the old town, or on a terrace of a cafe. As a proper bookworm I enjoyed that so much. Of course, I didn't only read, but I have also spent a lot of time exploring the old town and walking around the maze of medieval narrow cobblestone streets.
The most beautiful entrance to the old town is right in front of The Gregory of Nin statue. It's the statue of a bishop from the 10th century who advocated for the Old Croatian language instead of Latin during the liturgical services. He also worked on spreading the Christianity across Croatia which reminds me of Cyril and Methodius who brought Christianity to my home region less than 100 years earlier.

🥉 A Sudden Trip Along the Qihe Riverside, Huairou by @tanzil2024
Winter isn't just in the mountains around my living place but also spreading to the ground and plain areas here in Huairou, Beijing. It has slowly made its way to the plains, rivers, and hills. I live here, which is surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers, and lakes. Each season changes the scenery here. I've always been interested in every season and it's time for winter because it changes the scenery in a dramatic way before the winter but not is so noticeable ways in the middle of the winter.
As the temperature has still not dropped so much, I chose to go to the Qihe Riverside area, which is close to my dormitory. I've always liked this riverside road, but every winter it looks different. As soon as I got close to the river bank, I could feel the cold touch of winter in this area. The water level had gone down, showing stones and dry spots that had been hidden in the river basin. The river's flow had slowed down, and there were spots where it was almost still, like a calm pool reflecting the sky but not a blue sky due to the foggy weather.
