🥇 Laguna Brava and the lost plane/Laguna Brava y el avión perdido by @parissousa

A few months ago I was touring La Rioja, Argentina. I stayed in a small town called Villa San José de Vinchina. The plan was to visit Laguna Brava, where there is a reserve of vicuñas and flamingos.
Laguna Brava is part of a system of hypersaline lagoons located at a high altitude, approximately 4,300 meters above sea level. At that altitude, you feel a lack of oxygen and you can experience what is called altitude sickness (which is the lack of adaptation of the body to the lack of oxygen, which can cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting and physical exhaustion).
The night before, during dinner, we were doing some research on Google and found a news item that caught our attention: many years ago, a plane carrying pregnant mares had crashed in that lagoon. But I will tell you about that later.
The trip to get to the lagoon is quite long, so we got up early. While I was having breakfast, I took the first photo of the day from the dining room window. It was quite early, around 7:30 in the morning; there were still no people on the streets of the town.

🥈 From All Over Türkiye 32: Duatepe, last stand of Ankara (En-Tr) by @bemier

I hope you are well or are trying to be well. I am fine, but on the other hand, I feel sad with what the place we will go today reminds me. The most important point of the 1921 Battle of Sakarya. Also, Duatepe, where Atatürk proved himself many times and proved his military intelligence again and again. Duatepe is the Turks' last line of defence. Against whom? The Greeks. One of the important pillars of the War of Independence, which had already started in 1921. After this battle, Atatürk was awarded the title of "Gazi “ and the rank of ”Field Marshal ’ by the Turkish Grand National Assembly. I don't know if you would have felt it, but even though the air was quite clean on the hill, there was still that smell of blood and earth, and I still have this smell in my nose. I'm used to feeling this smell every time I visit Çanakkale, but I don't know whether it's because of my love for Atatürk or the fact that the capital was never set foot on by the occupiers, Duatepe has become a special place for me.

🥉 Angkor Wat, Towards the Past [PT/Eng] by @laam

Today I come to share with you the experience of my visit to the city of Siem Rap in Cambodia with the aim of visiting the famous temples in the region, the most famous being Angkor Wat. This monument is such a symbol for the country that made it the center of its flag.
I arrived in Siem Rap from Hanoi (Vietnam) on a trip that lasted around 1h45 and we landed at the modest international airport of Siem Rap. This airport, however, has already been deactivated to make way for a new, larger airport.
