Some days of last week were declared public holidays to celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast for Muslims in my country. The days were Wednesday and Thursday so I made up my mind to use these free days together with the weekend to practice the Python programming language since I'm an IT novice and I'm just starting to find my way around it. The idea seemed great and was the best way to make a good use of the holidays.
On Wednesday morning, I got a call from some friends who were in town and wanted to hangout, but I had made plans already and didn't wanna risk the rewards for doing all that I've planned for a hangout. These are also very close friends who're fun to be with and I sincerely would love to hangout with them but I had made plans already. They also on the other hand would still try to visit me if I said I was home and that would really mess up the plan. They may also get mad at the fact that I was neglecting them for some "work" when the idea itself was to just be at home and improve myself. So I lied.
I told them, I wasn't in town and wouldn't be back until Monday but if they were still in town by Monday, I would definitely hangout with them. Yeah, They bought it. Mostly because they know I actually travel alot and may truly not be in town but also because I had promised them to hangout when I return if they were still around.
I spent the holiday working on my self and learning new things, I also started learning how to use the C++ as well along side Python. On Monday afternoon, I hanged out with them and we really had a good time. It might've been obvious from my reduced activity on Hive on Monday but it was epic and memorable. I confessed my lie to them at the gathering, gave my reasons and apologized.
Well, after that day, I made up my mind to always tell the truth in all circumstances, regardless of how it would be perceived and regardless of the result.

I am just/only curious. What (which operating system) do you use for programming? Windows? Some kind of Linux distribution? MacOS? BSD? Something else? Or multiple?
I use Windows and it's been great so far
The last time I used a computer, I used Linux on it.
I think that it is better than Windows. It is free and more secure than Windows. Free in the sense that it is free of charge (does not cost any money), and it is also free in the sense that it is open source, so you can study and even modify its source code.
That's cool, I'll read up more on the operating systems for the best programming experience, most especially Linus. Thank you for reading and sharing your experience. I appreciate it.

Well, I think that at some point we have all gone through a similar situation, the nice thing about your story is that then you told them what really happened, it is always important to keep the appointments we have with ourselves. Greetings and success!
Yeah, important appointments with ourselves should be given the utmost priorities. Thank you for for taking the time to read through. I appreciate it

Smile, there is no how one would not do without making a single lie. Mostly, I tell the truth but sometimes I lie jokingly.
Yea, telling lies only reduce as we grow older and wiser. When when older people lie l, they call it a "White Lie"...lol...Don't know if you've heard of that.😄
omo lie is lie oooooo. Lolz.
