Wartime Diary, Kyiv, 12.04.22

48th day of the war.

Today's post will only be dedicated to one disgusting and heartbreaking topic.

Personally, it hurts me a lot to speak about that, and even think of it, and I really hesitated if I need to bring it up here. But I treat this platform as both (1) a diary for me to stay sane and reflect of what I'm experiencing (2) and a way of reaching out to people all over the world to spread the word about this horrible war.

So I feel like I must bring it up and speak about it.

I'm having this psychological reaction to all the horrible events that have been happening: ignoring. I withdraw from the news, I don't read it at all, because it's unbearable. But at some point, information hunger accumulates, and I start reading all the news channels that are available to me, watching videos on YouTube and... I always cry.

Today I'm overwhelmed with hatred and disgust again after reading all news about the rape and sex violence in Bucha and other cities - testimonies from acquaintances of friends, some 'word-of-mouth', some official reports in local channels and country-wide news and statistics. If you are a foreigner and what to have a general understanding of what was happening, this BBC article gives an overview.

Ombudswoman Lyudmila Denysova spoke about horrible crimes that have been committed to numerous young girls and women aged 9 to 50 years old. They didn't have mercy for children: they raped them till wounds and ripped genitals. A notorious case of 25 girls aged 14 to 24 that were locked in a basement in Bucha and repeatedly raped for several weeks has been brought up. 9 of them are pregnant now.

One woman reports being repeatedly raped after the occupants killed her husband who tried to protect her. She could not resist because these scums threatened to kill her little son.

When they were leaving, they burnt the house and shot the family's dogs. Why? Because they could. And hated to see people living a happy, decent life. The kind of people who can't create anything beautiful, but can only destroy it out of envy and hurt other people. PHOTO CREDIT

If you still have a grain of believing that there are 'good russians' who 'don't want to go to war, but have to execute orders' and think that 'it's putin's war, the people have nothing to do with it', let me tell you something.

Do you know how much russians hate all of us?
One simple fact.

The rapists in Bucha told the girls, their victims, that 'they would rape them so much that they never want to have sex with anyone else, so that they don't give birth to Ukrainian children'.

And in the intercepted conversations, the wives of these pigs, hearing about their husbands raping Ukrainian girls, kindly remind them of 'wearing a condom'.

This nation is sick. This is not even a nation. A nation has dignity, and humility, and humanness. These bastards have no dignity, no heart, no compassion. We already know who we're fighting with. I want the whole world to know who they really are, too. This is not just putin raping these girls. This is not just putin hating all Ukrainians, even unborn ones. This is not just putin burning down our houses and ruining the entire cities.

Each and every russian is responsible for these crimes as an accomplice.

And each and every of them will face the fair consequences.

I can't stay completely silent on this one.

The actions performed and the attitudes shown are absolutely horrendous - and the evidences are overwhelming. Still, I politely disagree that all Russians are responsible. There are Russians sitting in jail at home for trying to protest against this madness - are they also to blame? There are Russians outside Russia that have chosen to flee from Russia - are they also to blame? It's a fallacy to blame the whole population for actions done by one person or a group of persons - regardless of how horrendous said actions are.

One of the reasons such atrocities can happen is that those scumbags seriously believes that "all Ukrainians are nazists and untermensch". By promoting the idea that all Russians are responsible for those actions, you're indirectly promoting the idea that similar actions can be done against Russians, just because they are Russians.

By 'all russians' I imply this overwhelming majority who directly support or are silent - thus supporting the war, too. I'm grateful to those who protest, regardless of the danger, who do not keep silent and do not pretend like nothing is happening. I don't know such people in person, though.
But the rest - if they are capable adults and do nothing - yes, they are to blame, too.

Unfortunately too many of them believes in the Russian propaganda. Those people who sincerely believes that the Russian soldiers are on a "peace keeping mission" in Ukraine to rescue Russians in Mariupol from a genocide, believes all the stories from the northern Ukraine is "fake news", believes the missile attack at Kramatorsk was performed by Ukrainians, etc ... in my opinion they are just stupid, not evil.

Barbaric savages is what those demons are. Hope they burn in Hell!☠🔥💀

There even was an 80-year-old woman who told reporters she was repeatedly raped while her handicapped, bedridden husband watched and could do nothing. Sickening!

This is just so wrong...
