Hola mi querida comunidad de madres y padres de Colmena, hoy quiero hablarles de una decisión muy importante que muchos tomamos en un momento de la infancia de nuestros hijos, concretamente cuando nace nuestro bebé y es la elección del pediatra, es muchas de las veces recurrimos al pediatra gratuito que atiende en los hospitales para el control del niño sano, donde las consultas son cada mes, pero en otros casos recurrimos a consultas privadas para una mejor valoración de nuestros hijos.
Todavía recuerdo al primer pediatra de mi bebé, en una ocasión me dijo que teníamos que tener cuidado porque la circunferencia de la cabeza de mi hijo era muy grande, que estaba en el límite de lo normal, que eso podía ser algo malo, como podía ser algo de su anatomía, pero que de todas formas teníamos que estar atentos.

En una ocasión mi hijo contagio de moluscos y el dermatólogo del hospital lo atendió y le mandó un tratamiento moderadamente costoso que no le hizo nada, luego lo vio el pediatra y en una semana lo curó, este pediatra tenía la particularidad de que mandaba dosis altas en sus medicamentos y si algo no funcionaba lo mezclaba, Por ejemplo, en una ocasión mi hijo tenía una fiebre tan alta que no se le podía bajar con nada, y recuerdo que el médico me ordenó que le diera acetaminofén cada cuatro horas y cada seis horas otro tratamiento para la fiebre que no recuerdo el nombre, pero que era muy bueno y esto fue lo que lo controló.

On one occasion my son was infected with mollusks and the dermatologist at the hospital treated him and sent him a moderately expensive treatment that did nothing, then the pediatrician saw him and in a week he cured him, this pediatrician had the particularity that he sent high doses in his medications and if something did not work he mixed it, For example, on one occasion my son had such a high fever that he could not get it down with anything, and I remember that the doctor ordered me to give him acetaminophen every four hours and every six hours another treatment for fever that I do not remember the name, but it was very good and this was what controlled it.
Mi hijo tuvo contacto con este pediatra durante unos tres años y aunque fue muy bueno, hay cosas que no me dijo, que realmente me hubiera gustado resolver cuando mi hijo era un bebé, como el caso del frenillo lingual, ya que ningún pediatra me informó de que mi hijo lo tenía, ni siquiera los dentistas que lo vieron, yo llegué a saber que mi hijo tenía frenillo lingual hace unos tres años, pero una operación a estas alturas realmente hay que pensarla.

La elección de los médicos de nuestros hijos es una situación muy delicada porque un mal diagnóstico o una mala práctica puede afectar el resto de su vida, recuerdo que en una ocasión un gastroenterólogo pediatra me dijo que mi hijo tenía fibrosis quística, esa situación me devastó. En otra ocasión un neumólogo pediatra le dio a mi hijo unos corticoides tan fuertes que empezó a hacer cosas absurdas, por ejemplo se fue descalzo al negocio que quedaba muy lejos y solo se reía , también intentó saltar desde lugares altos, por suerte me di cuenta de que algo estaba pasando y que eran los corticoides que le habían dado y lo suspendí inmediatamente el tratamiento , asistiendo a otro médico.

Otro médico con el que pasamos mucho tiempo fue un médico alemán de edad mayor , tenía como 80 años, él atendía en otra ciudad, un muy buen médico, aquí las consultas eran más caras, y bueno lo recuerdo con cariño porque él, pero negó el diagnóstico de fibrosis quística que me había dado el otro médico y me devolvió la tranquilidad , además me aclaro el panorama y lo que realmente mi hijo tenía, me dijo que lo que tenía era una infección intestinal, y efectivamente lo era.
Este mismo doctor le dio a mi hijo unas pastillas de por vida llamadas singulair, esto realmente no me gustaba, pero con esto controló el crup de mi hijo por algún tiempo, de alguna u otra manera puedo decir que mi hijo se hizo adicto al singulair y al salbutamol, realmente a estas alturas no sé si fue necesario o no.
Utilice el singulair hasta que mi hijo tuvo unos ocho años, cuando el médico murió, tuve que cambiar de médico, esta vez un neumonólogo muy famoso, que tiene un nombre extraño, Mata la Tuz, cuando me lo recomendaron pensé que era una broma, pero en realidad lo era, este médico le quitó todo lo que el anterior médico le había recetado y le mando solo cosas naturales, no fue fácil el periodo de abstinencia del salbutamol, pero finalmente lo logramos.

De alguna manera el médico que le atendió el embarazo y la cesárea nunca le dijo, y el pediatra del control de niño sano tampoco le informo, fue una tía quien le insinuó sutilmente a mi prima que su hija podía tener síndrome de Down, esta noticia la desbastó y hasta entro en enemistad con mi tía, tiempo después cuando ella notó que su hija no avanzaba igual que los demás niños, fue que decidió buscar más información y ayuda con otros médicos quienes le informaron todo lo que tenía que saber respecto al síndrome.
Desde mi punto de vista considero que en algunas situaciones el personal de salud no informa a los padres de ciertas circunstancias de los hijos, primero porque no lo creen necesario y segundo porque tal vez piensen que esta noticia no les incumbe a ellos, considero que un profesional con ética debería informar a los padres hasta de los más mínimos detalles, y que sean ellos quienes decidan si una situación va a requerir tratamiento o no, pero definitivamente es mejor estar al tanto que desconocer los problemas de nuestros hijos, por eso la elección del pediatra es una de las elecciones más importantes de nuestra vida.

Que raro que tantos doctores obviaran informaciones tan importantes. Yo amaba la pediatra de mis hijos, me pasaba como a ti, uno iba a supuestos especialistas y no solucionaban nada y ella en un día o dos de tratamiento el niño estaba curado. Lamentablemente ella se fue del país. Nos costó conseguir una nueva pediatra, pero gracias a dios no la hemos necesitado tanto. Igual siempre que vamos al médico voy asustada porque siempre algo, por más tonto que sea uno sale con una lista de medicamentos y diagnósticos abrumadores que muchas veces no son acertados. De echo haré un post para contar mi experiencia con los problemas de peso de mi bebé desde que nació, un niño que come bien y súper completo y balanceado, ama las frutas y varias verduras. Pero no está aparentemente lo suficientemente gordo 😑
Hola, si la elección del pediatra es fundamental, yo diría decisivo, por eso es tan importante escoger uno bueno , y en cuanto a tu hijo que tiene desnutrición? , a veces el problemas de peso se ven afectados por los parásitos o porque eliminan el calcio.
