En esta oportunidad les comparto una reseña de la película "El Niño con el Pijama a Rayas".
In this opportunity I share with you a review of the movie "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas".
El niño con el pijama a rayas es una película dramática dirigida por Mark Herman y producida por David Heyman, estrenada en 2008 y basada en la novela del mismo nombre escrita por el autor irlandés John Boyne.

La película está protagonizada por Vera Farmiga, David Thewlis, RuperdFriend, Asa Butterfield y Jack Scalon; y ambientada en el año 1942 durante la segunda guerra mundial.
The film stars Vera Farmiga, David Thewlis, RuperdFriend, Asa Butterfield and Jack Scalon; and is set in 1942 during World War II.
La película está narrada por un niño alemán de 8 años llamado Bruno quien vive en la época del régimen nazi y describe desde su punto de vista, el holocausto. Es sorprendente como Bruno nos relata su historia llena de sentimientos, injusticias y crueldad donde él a pesar de observar escenarios espantosos, no entiende el por qué suceden.
The film is narrated by an 8 year old German boy named Bruno who lives in the time of the Nazi regime and describes from his point of view, the holocaust. It is amazing how Bruno tells us his story full of feelings, injustice and cruelty where he, despite observing frightening scenarios, does not understand why they happen.
La película empieza con Bruno, quien siendo hijo de un estricto comandante, vive junto a su familia en un pudiente barrio de Berlín. Debido a la nueva asignación del padre de Bruno, la familia se ve obligada a trasladarse a “Auschwitz” un campo de concentración y exterminio donde enviaban judíos durante la segunda guerra mundial.
The film begins with Bruno, the son of a strict commandant, living with his family in a wealthy neighborhood in Berlin. Due to Bruno's father's new assignment, the family is forced to move to "Auschwitz", a concentration and extermination camp where Jews were sent during World War II.
Bruno exasperado por no tener ningún amigo en su nuevo hogar observa que detrás de una valla hay muchas casas donde habitan personas vestidas con pijamas de rayas y él inmediatamente debido a sus atuendos supone que son granjeros. Un día Bruno decide explorar a escondidas de su familia y se dirige a la valla donde conoce a un niño de su misma edad llamado Shmuel, de quien se hace amigo; a partir de ese momento comienzan a verse a escondidas con mucha regularidad y su amistad se convierte en un lazo solido hasta el final de la película; Bruno le lleva comida a Shmuel mientras este le relata cómo es su vida detrás del cerco.
Bruno, exasperated by not having any friends in his new home, notices that behind a fence there are many houses where people dressed in striped pajamas live and he immediately assumes that they are farmers because of their attire. One day Bruno decides to sneak away from his family and goes to the fence where he meets a boy his own age named Shmuel, whom he befriends; from that moment on they begin to sneak around regularly and their friendship becomes a solid bond until the end of the film; Bruno brings Shmuel food while Shmuel tells him about his life behind the fence.
La Madre de Bruno al descubrir la verdad detrás de “Auschwitz” y al tener conocimiento de que el humo que emerge de éste es en realidad procedente de los crematorios que existen en el campo y a donde enviaban a los judíos que eran incapaces de trabajar, ancianos y niños, decide trasladarse nuevamente a Berlín con sus hijos pues reconoce que no es el lugar adecuado para criarlos. Antes del traslado de Bruno, Shmuel le dice que no encuentra a su padre y a lo que su amigo propone ayudar a buscarlo pasando al otro lado del alambrado y vistiendo un pijama a rayas como el de su amigo. A partir de este momento el destino del pequeño bruno da un giro inesperado.
Bruno's Mother, upon discovering the truth behind "Auschwitz" and learning that the smoke that emerges from it is actually coming from the crematoria that exist in the camp and where they sent Jews who were unable to work, old people and children, decides to move back to Berlin with her children because she recognizes that it is not the right place to raise them. Before Bruno's transfer, Shmuel tells him that he cannot find his father, to which his friend proposes to help look for him by going to the other side of the fence and wearing striped pajamas like his friend. From this moment on, little Bruno's destiny takes an unexpected turn.
El Niño con el Pijama de Rayas es una película que me hizo soltar muchas lágrimas, y el observar cómo se describen todos estos acontecimientos desde el punto de vista de un niño y su incomprensión de los hechos debido a su inocencia hace que sea duro terminar de verla, desde el comienzo te imaginas que no tendrá un final feliz pero aun así te sorprende cuando empiezas a tener sentimientos encontrados debido a las injusticias y la crueldad que se vivía en el campo de exterminio de Auschwitz. Uno de las peores sentimientos que emergieron de mi al ver esta obra, fueron la impotencia debido a las infamias cometidas y la molestia hacia las personas que las ejecutaban; asimismo tristeza al escuchar a Shmuel narrando como era su vida antes de estar en el campo y en que se convirtió.
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a movie that made me shed many tears, and watching how all these events are described from the point of view of a child and his incomprehension of the facts due to his innocence makes it hard to finish watching it, from the beginning you imagine that it will not have a happy ending but still it surprises you when you start to have mixed feelings because of the injustices and cruelty that was lived in the extermination camp of Auschwitz. One of the worst feelings that emerged from me when watching this play, was the impotence due to the infamies committed and the annoyance towards the people who executed them; also sadness when listening to Shmuel narrating how his life was before being in the camp and what he became.
Siempre me he interesado en películas del holocausto, he visto varias, pero definitivamente esta ha sido la que más me ha llegado al corazón. La amistad que forjan Bruno y Shmuel es tan increíble que hasta el final de la película podemos observar cómo se apoyaban el uno al otro sin importar la clase social. La trama es compleja pero resulta sencillo entenderla pues lo vemos a través de los ojos de un niño de 8 años que no comprende la mayoría de las injusticias que se ejecutan. Ésta es una película que recomiendo y que pienso que todos deberían ver, si has leído el libro me atrevo a decir que la adaptación es fantástica y va a llenar tus expectativas pues son pequeños los cambios que existen entre ellas y si no la has visto y piensas hacerlo, te aseguro que te va a gustar.
I've always been interested in holocaust films, I have seen several, but this was definitely the one that touched my heart the most. The friendship that Bruno and Shmuel forge is so incredible that until the end of the film we can see how they supported each other regardless of social class. The plot is complex but it is easy to understand because we see it through the eyes of an 8 year old boy who does not understand most of the injustices that are executed. This is a movie that I recommend and that I think everyone should see, if you have read the book I dare say that the adaptation is fantastic and will fulfill your expectations because there are small changes between them and if you have not seen it and plan to do so, I assure you that you will like it.

También siento mucho interés por las historias inspiradas o basadas en el holocausto, El Niño con el Pijama de Rayas es uno de mis libros y películas favoritas, me hizo conmover muchísimo y botar unas cuantas lágrimas (o bueno, en realidad fueron muchas lágrimas XD) al final.
Ciertamente es una pelicula que nos muestra lo crudo de esa epoca. Muy conmovedora. Gracias por tu visita @nicxi!
