A series with a simple, classic, modern story, splendid scenery, respectable and unique costumes, definitely worth watching.
Una serie con una historia sencilla, clásica, moderna, con escenarios esplendidos, vestuarios respetables y únicos, definitivamente vale la pena verla.
Some time ago I saw the review of this series, and it caught my attention, especially because it was based on that decade of the century, with those costumes, that take us to that time, I said to myself, I have to watch it.
That's how I started watching the first season, which consists of 9 chapters, I've already started watching the second, but I wanted to bring you my opinion, about what I've seen, and how the series goes; with an extravagant, modern story, showing class differences, high society, and its historical setting, in New York City in the 1880s.
PLOT
The series begins with this young Marian Brock, who, when her father dies, decides to go to live with her aunts, two single women, but with some principles rules, very old, with which the young woman must adapt, or take advantage of the new opportunities that are presented to her, about this world full of luxury and extravagance.

Hace un tiempo vi la reseña de esta serie, y me llamo mucho la atención, sobre todo porque se basaba en esa década del siglo, con esos vestuarios, que nos trasportan a dicha época, me dije, tengo que verla.
Fue así como comencé a ver la primera temporada, la cual consta de 9 capítulos, ya inicié a ver la segunda, pero igual quise traerles mi opinión, sobre lo que he visto, y como va dicha serie; con una historia extravagante, moderna, mostrando las diferencias de clases, de alta sociedad, y su ambientación histórica, en la ciudad de Nueva York en los 1880.
TRAMA
La serie comienza con esta joven Marian Brock, la cual, al morir su padre, decide irse a vivir con sus tías, dos mujeres solas, pero con unos principios reglas, muy antiguos, con los cuales la joven debe adaptarse, o aprovechar las nuevas oportunidades que se le presentan, sobre este mundo lleno de lujos y extravagancia.
COSTUMES AND SCENERY
As I already mentioned, the series shows us a splendid scenery in my opinion, I love all that modern atmosphere, with its mansions all elegant, huge, with that period decoration, its elegant suits, with its elegant parties, with class; the women with their dresses all adorned, colorful, so well presentable, flirty with class, as well as the men, with their suits, this is definitely the most attractive part of this story.
These costumes are the most carefully and best presented elements, reflecting the fashion of the time, as I already mentioned, we will see those super outlandish dresses, the formal suits and the huge but elegant hats.
Undoubtedly the series manages to capture with great exuberance all this setting of high society, with its riches, the intrigues that can not miss, the social differences, and the struggle for power; with the decorations of the mansions, and the streets of the city for that time, it is there where this classic atmosphere is created, and transports us to that time.
MODERN CHARACTERS
With respect to the characters, we will see the young protagonist, a rather naive girl, but determined, willing to find her place in the world of high society.
On the other hand, we have the Russells, an ostentatious family, also willing to find their place, but with a much more advanced modernism, thus confronting the old ones, they will fight to maintain themselves, to have power and prestige, with great ambition.
We also have Marian's aunts, two women of different character, conservative, and traditional, it is here where they represent the old era of high society, which makes it difficult for Marian to adapt to them.

VESTUARIO Y ESCENARIO
Como ya les mencioné, la serie nos muestra una escenografía a mi parecer esplendida, me encanta todo ese ambiente moderno, con sus mansiones todas elegantes, enormes, con esa decoración de época, sus trajes todos elegantes, con sus fiestas de etiqueta, con clase; las mujeres con sus vestidos todos adornados, coloridos, tan bien presentables, coquetas con clase, al igual que los hombres, con sus trajes, definitivamente esto es la parte más atractiva de esta historia.
Dichos trajes, son los elementos más cuidados y mejor presentados, reflejando esa moda de la época, como ya les comenté, veremos esos vestidos super estrambóticos, los trajes de etiqueta y los sombreros enormes pero elegantes.
Sin duda la serie logra capturar con gran exuberancia toda esta ambientación de la alta sociedad, con sus riquezas, las intrigas que no pueden faltar, las diferencias sociales, y la lucha de poder; con las decoraciones de las mansiones, y las calles de la ciudad para esa época, es allí donde se crea esta atmosfera clásica, y nos transporta a ese tiempo.
PERSONAJES MODERNOS
Con respecto a los personajes, veremos a la joven protagonista, una chica bastante ingenua, pero decidida, dispuesta a encontrar su lugar dentro de ese mundo de la alta sociedad.
Por otra parte, tenemos a los Russell, una familia ostentosa, dispuesto también a encontrar su lugar, pero con un modernismo mucho más avanzado, enfrentando de esta forma a los antiguos, ellos lucharan por mantenerse, tener poder y prestigio, con una gran ambición.
Tenemos también a las tías de Marian, dos mujeres de carácter diferentes, conservadoras, y tradicionales, es aquí donde ellas representan la vieja era de alta sociedad, lo que hace que Marian le resulte difícil amoldarse a ellas.
Here we will not see scenes of action, violent or high tone, like most of the movies or series that exist today, on the contrary, we will see a soft, quiet story, with some drama, intrigues, secrets; it is somewhat slow, but entertaining, each scene has its moment, it transports you to that **GOLDEN GOLDEN EARTH.
That's why I love this series, I'm on the second season, so far only two have been released, I hope they bring out more, anyway, it is exquisite, I recommend it 100%.
Aquí no veremos escenas de acción, violentas o subidas de tono, como la mayoría de las películas o series que existen hoy en día, al contrario, veremos una historia suave, tranquila, con algo de drama, intrigas, secretos; es algo lenta, pero entretenida, cada escena tiene su momento, te transporta a esa EDAD DORADA.
Por eso me encanto esta serie, voy por la segunda temporada, hasta el momento solo han salido dos, espero saquen más, de igual forma, es exquisita, se las recomiendo al 100%.
