Today I’m going to share a review of this series
which got released in 2019 on Netflix called “CRASH LANDING ON YOU”. It’s a Korean series.

Japanese
Spanish
Thai ..all these languages. So if you guys want to watch this, you can pretty much watch this in your language. Even if you guys don’t like watching romantic k-dramas you should still give it a try.
I never heard about this series until my sister told me to watch this as she loved this drama and watched it 3 times already. So I thought let’s give it a try and trust me guys this series has more than just a typical boy- girl romantic story.

Storyline
In this series they showed a girl named
Yoon se-ri , she belongs to a wealthy family, her dad owns a big bus’s in south Korea, and even Yoon seri has her own business there, she owns a skin care brand of her own. But the life takes her to a place where she never thought she could ever be there.
She goes for paragliding but cause of bad weather and strong winds leads yoon seri to make an emergency landing in North Korea. There she meets Ri jeong-Hyoek , who is a north Korean army officer. He tries to protect her from north Korean departments abd hid her from them in his house. But Soon, Ri Jeong-Hyeok falls in love with Yoon Se-Ri. Eventually she also fall in love with him. And there story starts to unfold.
There is two leading actors and actresses. Both the stories are shown simultaneously in the series. You will find yourself engaging with both the stories.
My thoughts & opinions
I liked the unique premise of a South Korean woman getting stranded in North Korea and being aided by a soldier. I really liked their characters development’s specially yoon se-ri’s character developed so much throughout the show..she was an arrogant rich lady who doesn’t cared about anyone except herself but slowly she became this emotionally responsible and sensible women who cared about her lover and the friends she made in north Korea. Ri Jung Hyuk’s character was a bit unconcerned at first but he’s actually a very good man who goes to great lengths to protect se-ri.
The star-crossed romance between Jung Hyuk and Se Ri was an emotional one. I enjoyed this duo’s scenes together quite a bit.
We also had quite a few really fun supporting characters with the other soldiers helping Se Ri as well as the North Korean townspeople. They added plenty of laughs in this drama even Ri jung Hyuk’s friends were my favourite, they were so innocent and naive for their age’s. I really enjoyed their characters.
The secondary leads of Seung jun and dan were also good in their roles. But Dans’s character wasn’t particularly a likeable one. But still i enjoyed their story as well.
think the biggest drawback for the series was the
really long episodes. They start out long and just get longer as the series goes on. Multiple episodes are over one and half hours so you should take this in consideration that you must have some free time to watch this one.
Overall it’s a good story but for a while, we just go several rounds of Se ri attempting and failing at returning to South Korea. I certainly didn’t like the ending of this show. To find out why you have to watch it for yourself as I don’t wanna give any spoilers here.
These things probably won’t be an issue for you though if you fall in love with all of the characters, the atmosphere in the drama, the excellent overall production, and the epic romance at its heart.
Acting and casting
Let’s talk about acting of the main character’s
The leading pair played their roles So amazingly that you won’t even feel like this is a drama, it all seems so real, their expressions and emotions were so real that you will not be able to forget about them for a while. And surprisingly they got married in real life after this k drama got released so you can tell they were actually in love while filming for this series.
All the friends of Ri Jung Hyuk and the people of north korean town also played their roles quite well. They represented their friendship so beautifully. So i will give some credits to them as well.
They makes this series a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch.
Cinematography
The cinematographer of this series was absolutely beautiful. The scenes were beautifully filmed. The representation of south and north korea was on point. The differences in those two places are huge and they showed it in the show so amazingly.
Even the life style and difference in their thoughts are shown very smartly. The lighting, camera angles, framing, focus everything was spot on.
You can tell that the director really payed a close attention in details in filming of this show.
My final thoughts
All and all I don’t regret watching this series, I actually really enjoyed it and finished it quite quickly coz you wanna know what’s going to happen next. The story really grips you to itself.
Crash Landing On You had a good mix of romance and humor along with the more serious plot of Se Ri in hiding and constantly at risk of being caught by north Korean government.
Lots of emotions become involved as they face the difficulties of their situation and a love that seems impossible. This series not only shows the true love between seri and jung hyuk, they also shows the great friendship and love between the friends of Re jung hyuk, also the north korean town people shows the true meaning of simple living and helping each other in every situation.
This show received an immense amount of love from fans so if you guys consider to watch this show , you should definitely give it a look, you won’t regret watching it.
I give this show a rating of 8.5/10.

From this series I was very annoyed by the attitude of the main character. Because they made him meet the perfect man, after he treated his first fiancée horribly, when the 2 of them were forced to carry the engagement. But well, I still had a lot of fun and I also cried a little bit with the ending.
Yeah i agree with you. But it’s still a good series to watch.
