This is imo the best "short description" of Hive I've seen in a long time and it was put out on Twitter by Why Hive Blockchain account. I don't know who actually runs this account but it had just 134 followers before I gave mine. It's nice seeing Hive being shilled on Twitter which is probably the best web2 social media app that we currently have.
Since Elon took the wheels, Twitter improved a lot, especially when it comes to handling censorship and freedom of speech. The differences between Hive and Twitter for these matters are huge. As mentioned in the above-quoted description of Hive, every user of the platform is "an owner" actually of his/her account and no one can ban/deplatform anyone from sharing content on Hive.
Twitter is not yet in that position, if ever...
best five web3 crypto projects and when I opened it I wasn't amazed to see that Hive wasn't mentioned at all by the author. He either didn't know about it or intentionally ignored it.I stumbled upon an interesting article yesterday shared by @acidyo on Twitter. It was titled something like
Sometimes I feel like certain outlets and crypto influencers are afraid of Hive, otherwise, I don't see the reason why they don't talk about it, or use it. As a crypto head posting crypto-related content, Hive and the @leofinance community should be a must. But then again...
Have we ever tried doing any sort of "proper marketing campaign" for Hive so the world would know about us?
This is the tiny elephant in the room for Hive. There's no doubt that #posh is quite handful in this regard, I have been sharing my Hive posts on Twitter before #posh was even a thing and I also agree with @taskmaster4450 when he says that "development is marketing".
I wanna ask you guys now: how much development do we still need to get noticed? It's not like we're underdeveloped... Without bragging or anything, I'd say that Hive is quite overdeveloped in comparison with many many top 100 crypto projects. However, we're still underexposed and, as said many times in many of my prior articles, I stand by the idea that we need some proper Hive marketing campaign.
I personally would donate HIVE or HBD for such a campaign because I see a lot of value in marketing. Oftentimes well sold products are in that position mostly because of the aggressive/efficient marketing they benefit from rather than the utility or reliability of them. Hive is both functional and reliable.
And still, we're severely overlooked. I mean, even these accounts promoting it on twitter have their likes coming mostly from twitter accounts owned by hivers. I don't know how you see this, but I believe having some sort of marketing like paid "shilling articles" written by renowned crypto media outlets having us as "the main subject" would help.
Having some youtubers talking about us, or interviewing some of the builders from the platform like @blocktrades, @khaleelkazi, @acidyo or @theycallmedan would work well as marketing too...
What do you think?
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

I wouldn't market hive as it is a system rather than a product but the likes of leofinance would be very good for bringing in thousands of users when the new UI is finished.
I think it's more about each app standing alone and bringing in their own users in the future like splinterlands did this year.
Then as people see how good hive is a a system to build upon and how they could benefit from accessing the userbase with one simple login system that more apps build and grow the chain.

True. I haven't thought about it from this perspective. As in the case of Splinterlands, any type of marketing would pull in new users and investors.
you are asking good questions.

Excellent post, except that you said Twitter has improved in terms of freedom of speech since Elon Musk took over. Seriously?
He's openly banned accounts just for being critical of him. That doesn't sound like freedom of speech to me.
I didn't say the freedom of speech situation got fixed. It has improved...
But it isn't an improvement. Twitter is still booting people for tweeting things the owners/controllers of the platform don't like. They're just booting different people now.
I think that more marketing is needed so that HIVE can have all the potential success that it deserves, and that it prospects for. However, there are many ways to achieve the success of HIVE, personally, I think that it is a matter to do a correct SEO so that HIVE can be taken more into account by search engines; I think that is absolutely necessary.
I think that many of us (the hive's authors)we take for granted that HIVE has good SEO, but the reality of things is that any SEO expert will tell you after little analysis that HIVE has not a powerful SEO. And I think that there we have the main problem (or one of the main ones) for which HIVE is generally ignored despite the great potential it possesses.
Well, at least this is my opinion on the matter at hand. Greetings.

In this regard I have to admit that I'm lame when it comes to SEO.
It is always a question to have a product people want to use and find value in it.
I just think there should be a Twitter ad running 24/7 funded by DHF. 🤷♂️
That too...
Hive doesnt have the funds to do those things at a competitive level.
A business owner can be risk prone, a community is much more careful.
I can tell you how much stuff costs and there is 0 chance it would ever be approved.
How expensive can be to fund some featured articles by cointelegraph or coindesk or any other similar outlet?
A few days ago I actually sent @starkerz my list of around 200 outlets in finance, crypto, business I used in 2021 when I was doing marketing.
The price for 1 article on a similar site like you listed here is between 5-10k USD. And those are numbers from 2 years ago.
i recall numbers of 24K!!
Thanks for Ur votes G ♥️ att;
It may be that uncensored HIVE was being throttled on Twitter. Perhaps HIVE blogs and Leo threads can start accumulating more reach, followers, and social capitol now that Elon is at the wheel. Time will tell.
Also, Elon has stated that Bluecheck accounts will eventually begin to earn from ads placed in their comment sections. Would be an interesting development for sure.

Elon has been a positive change for twitter imo.
