The Landgate is not just a pretty entrance; it is the main gateway to the city that boasts eight remaining gates. This particular gate is renowned for its representation of the winged lion of St. Mark, a symbol of Venetian heritage. Although the interior may not be as majestic as the exterior, stepping through the Landgate transports you back to Zadar’s historic roots.
Strolling Through Fwell Square
Fwell Square used to be a former moat, serving an essential role in Zadar’s water supply until the mid-19th century. Characterized by five wells centrally located in the square, it is an iconic sight. Adjacent to the square is a beautiful park, offering shade and a lovely setting for leisurely exploration.
