Remember the coin that I was afraid of holding a few days ago because dev was quiet...
Well since then I've sold it and the dev actually spoke on telegram, but the damage is already done, community lost trust in the dev and the project, and when a coin needs users for the value accrual mechanism to work, damaging it to this extend is really bad for long term growth.
The coin was $BCB, it's a gambling coin where people can bet on sports events and gamble on slot machines. 100% of the profits go to $BCB stakers.
They do have a website and all of that, and everything is working, but they need more users to use it.
And I don't think the team knows how to bring more users and it's kinda of lost.
I exchanged it for $RLB, which works similar, has Product Market Fit, utilization, and $RLB is burned with platform's profits (taxes are easier)...
It's an old coin but has utilization and the chart looks stable even through the bear market.
The 10% are the volatile part of my portfolio, but I need to pick them carefully in order to not have much downside risk.
Alts currently are:
$WOO, $RLB, $COTI
Woo is stable at this price, but has buybacks and burns with Woofi, and I actually use their product and gives me benefits in terms of fees on their platform.
RLB has buybacks and the price has been stable in the 10c-13c for months now, with 50% of the supply already burned, and around $120k buyback and burns each day, which means that sooner or later it will pump. And I use my RLB to join their lotto each day.
COTI I've been holding for a while now, and it is the most volatile atm after I sold BCB and the one I'm wondering if I should keep or not...
Also have: ZK, EIGEN, ARB, ETHFI but these were free airdrops.

A man is made from pain, disrespect , rejection , failure & losses. A man becomes who he is by rising to meet his struggles, letting each trial shape him into something stronger & wiser.
In 2020-2021 I made the mistake of thinking that some of my coins were going up because of actual utilization and value capture.
In fact what was happening is that they were going up because of speculators and traders.
Many of the coins that I held went down for months after I bought them.
Don't make the same mistake as me... If they pump really fast and suddenly it's very likely that the pump is not due to utilization and value accrual mechanisms, but actually Pump and Dumps.
Value accrual mechanisms and utilization make coins go up slowly, and it takes weeks and weeks and months to grind up.
Don't hold your alts all the way down for no reason...
But…honestly that number feels low - an increase in that number coming months would mean more than the increase in MAU - as I fear that quite a portion in MAU is alt. LPUD is a great measurement!
I see what you are saying, but can't agree that LPUD is a great metric. Know several lions like myself that doesnt really care about LPUD. And also many of the new accounts either dont know about LPUD and dont really understand yet why to stake $LEO :)
My concern is just that we risk falling for the error SPL made back in the days where the growth of MAU was inflated compared to actuals - due to incentives to do so. So yeah, def agree lets work all together to get everyone involved!
The real key is the rise in overall metrics, that's how you know the engagement and increase in activity is not subjective
While we see a subjectively massive rise in overall engagement across the site (easy to "feel" while using the UI), you can also see it in actual onchain metrics
Tottal # of threads is a big way. We're at 126k threads created right now compared to 35.8k on the same day of November (16th to 16th comparison)

Indeed! I got the same impression. I think with Kuji (now Ruji), something happened with their stablecoin... lost its peg or something.
Didn't know they came from Luna but that would explain a lot if they messed up with stables again! 😅

Remember the coin that I was afraid of holding a few days ago because dev was quiet...
Well since then I've sold it and the dev actually spoke on telegram, but the damage is already done, community lost trust in the dev and the project, and when a coin needs users for the value accrual mechanism to work, damaging it to this extend is really bad for long term growth.
The coin was $BCB, it's a gambling coin where people can bet on sports events and gamble on slot machines. 100% of the profits go to $BCB stakers.
They do have a website and all of that, and everything is working, but they need more users to use it.
And I don't think the team knows how to bring more users and it's kinda of lost.
I exchanged it for $RLB, which works similar, has Product Market Fit, utilization, and $RLB is burned with platform's profits (taxes are easier)...
It's an old coin but has utilization and the chart looks stable even through the bear market.

$BTC is a good asset my fren so that yeah, $LEO need rebuy everyday, LEO team is very nice for this work and ideas..

My portfolio currently is like this:
60% BTC, 30% ETH, 10% alts.
The 10% are the volatile part of my portfolio, but I need to pick them carefully in order to not have much downside risk.
Alts currently are:
$WOO, $RLB, $COTI
Woo is stable at this price, but has buybacks and burns with Woofi, and I actually use their product and gives me benefits in terms of fees on their platform.
RLB has buybacks and the price has been stable in the 10c-13c for months now, with 50% of the supply already burned, and around $120k buyback and burns each day, which means that sooner or later it will pump. And I use my RLB to join their lotto each day.
COTI I've been holding for a while now, and it is the most volatile atm after I sold BCB and the one I'm wondering if I should keep or not...
Also have: ZK, EIGEN, ARB, ETHFI but these were free airdrops.
Also LEO and HIVE, but I don't count those in my portfolio.

In 2020-2021 I made the mistake of thinking that some of my coins were going up because of actual utilization and value capture.
In fact what was happening is that they were going up because of speculators and traders.
Many of the coins that I held went down for months after I bought them.
Don't make the same mistake as me... If they pump really fast and suddenly it's very likely that the pump is not due to utilization and value accrual mechanisms, but actually Pump and Dumps.
Value accrual mechanisms and utilization make coins go up slowly, and it takes weeks and weeks and months to grind up.
Don't hold your alts all the way down for no reason...

But…honestly that number feels low - an increase in that number coming months would mean more than the increase in MAU - as I fear that quite a portion in MAU is alt. LPUD is a great measurement!
I see what you are saying, but can't agree that LPUD is a great metric. Know several lions like myself that doesnt really care about LPUD. And also many of the new accounts either dont know about LPUD and dont really understand yet why to stake $LEO :)

The real key is the rise in overall metrics, that's how you know the engagement and increase in activity is not subjective
While we see a subjectively massive rise in overall engagement across the site (easy to "feel" while using the UI), you can also see it in actual onchain metrics
Tottal # of threads is a big way. We're at 126k threads created right now compared to 35.8k on the same day of November (16th to 16th comparison)

Mmm can't measure new MAUs with LPUD. They don't have enough Leo yet to qualify, don't know much about LPUD, also many people does the power up but doesn't do any of the other things required to participate, and so on. Same with the HPUD.
Hopefully the number will grow when the new users become more than just new users but Lions haha

Yes, I was personally there on the event that made the onboarding, and I know all the other people bringing more users after that. So we know for sure those are real. They are mostly account speaking in spanish because they are from my city.
And I saw the one you reported, and he sadly even tried to copy what those new users were doing haha not knowing it was because of an in-person event we can easily confirm, so that's a legit spammer.
