To make your planner even more functional, implement conditional formatting. For instance, you can conditionally format the cells containing “X” in the purchased status to fill with color, which makes it visually easier to see what's been bought.

You can also set rules for when the remaining amount goes below zero, changing the text to a red font in a red cell fill to highlight if you've overspent.

Reusing the Planner for Other Recipients

The great advantage of this Excel planner is its reusability. To create additional tabs for other recipients, you can duplicate Ralphie’s sheet. Simply right-click on the sheet tab and select “Move or Copy.” Rename the new tabs appropriately and then proceed to clear out the gift details for each recipient while keeping the overall structure intact.
