Seed Placement and Future Considerations
With the playoff bracket set, the committee reflected on the potential advantages of different seed placements. Oregon, for instance, emerged as the only undefeated team and was positioned as a top contender. However, there were concerns about the road that various teams might face, especially those in the higher seeds.
Manuel noted that seeding is based on how teams are ranked and that the committee does not factor in strategic advantages when determining placements. Each team is ranked using a set criterion established by the CFP, with the emphasis on their overall performance.
