After Helm’s chilling demise, a new challenger emerged in the form of Frealaf—the son of Helm's sister Hud. He guided a small band of warriors back to Meduseld, where he confronted and killed Wolf, reclaiming Edoras for Rohan.
Following the brutal winter, nature itself seemed to shift in favor of Rohan. Floods swept through the valley after the snow melted, causing chaos among the invaders who ultimately retreated. By the end of 2759, reinforcements from Gondor arrived, and Rohan expelled Freca's remnants from their lands.
Helm was ultimately honored posthumously, laid to rest in the Ninth Tomb while white flowers known as simbelmynë bloomed densely, symbolizing eternal remembrance.
