Elon Musk believes that the pace of AI advancement is accelerating at an incredible rate. He estimates that AI is getting 10 times better per year, which means that in just 4 years, it could be 10,000 times better. Musk predicts that AI will be able to do anything a human can do, possibly within the next year or two, and then surpass the combined capabilities of all humans within 3 years after that - putting us in the 2028-2029 timeframe.
