The second half brought a new energy as both teams made adjustments, further intensifying the competition. Ohio State returned to the field needing to gain the upper hand in order to reach the Big Ten Championship. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes’ offense struggled to gain ground, continuing a pattern of stalled drives and missed field goal attempts that blunted their momentum.
Michigan's offense, under Warren's leadership, found opportunities, particularly through the ground game. On several occasions, Mullings and other backs churned out positive yardage against a formidable Ohio State defensive line, propelling them into scoring positions.
