Preheating the air fryer to 200°C (390°F) for three minutes is essential. After preheating, season the chips with sea salt and black pepper, followed by adding them to the fryer basket. Set the temperature to 190°C (375°F) and a timer for 20 minutes.
John shares a crucial tip during the cooking process: every five minutes, shake the basket for even cooking and to achieve a uniform color. He repeats this step at intervals of 10 minutes and again at 15 minutes.
