Clark signed with the Tigers for $7.7 million in July 2023, a number that fell slightly below the recommended slot value but still underscoring his worth as a top-tier prospect. His professional debut included 12 games in rookie ball followed by an additional 11 games in Low-A Lakeland. While he initially faced challenges, hitting .224 across 23 games, his prospects remained optimistic.
In his first complete professional season in 2024, Clark found a rhythm, becoming the number one prospect in the Tigers' system and 20th overall according to Baseball America. He played well in Low-A, hitting .286 across 73 games with an OPS exceeding .800. A particularly strong start to July had him batting .410 over ten games, which showcased his ability to rapidly adapt and perform under pressure.
