Part 2/9:
Once regarded as an inviting third place, Starbucks stores have undergone a significant transformation. Many locations, once filled with comfortable seating and social hubs, now feel stark and clinical. The pandemic forced Starbucks to pivot towards drive-thru and mobile orders to accommodate safety protocols. This shift, initially a lifeline, has created a new reality where traditional cafe culture is sacrificed for convenience. As a result, many stores have converted to primarily serve drive-thru customers, rendering them incapable of providing that familiar inviting coffeehouse experience. The comforting ambiance and comfortable seating, which were key attractions, have been replaced with uncomfortable stools and large empty spaces.
