In Germany, for instance, there are 7 million individuals aged 65-70, balanced by only 3 million in the 15-19 age cohort. Similarly, Italy and Japan face steep demographic declines. Conversely, the U.S. enjoys a relatively stable population structure due to ongoing immigration.
While U.S. births have decreased, the influx of immigrants has kept the population growing, thereby supporting automotive demand. Yet, if migration rates decline, as predicted under restrictive immigration policies, such growth could reverse, threatening the auto market's recovery.
