To grasp the sheer magnitude of Star Wars imperial class Star Destroyers, one must consider their dimensions. An Imperial class Star Destroyer, for example, stretches approximately 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) in length—this dwarfs the USS Gerald R. Ford, which is merely 333 meters (1,092 feet). In fact, the Imperial class Star Destroyer is about five times longer and vastly more voluminous than Earth’s largest naval vessels.
However, the Star Destroyer is far from the largest class of ships in the galaxy. Some vessels, like the Mandator 4 class Siege Dreadnought that reaches 7.6 kilometers and the immense Executive class Superstar Destroyer at 19 kilometers, exemplify urban-like structures traversing space.
