Historically, the Yellowstone Club sought ways to enhance its ski offerings, which include its own private ski and golf community. Initially, the club approached the Forest Service to trade a corner of public land near their private resort for certain private land parcels, but this offer was denied. However, the club eventually returned with a seemingly more favorable deal to acquire land from the public sector, which would also help mitigate the longstanding public access issues.
