His approach to the lookout encompasses both the responsibilities of monitoring a nearby campground and sharing the tower's history with visitors who come to enjoy the stunning views. Despite the changes in fire monitoring, Russ remains committed to preserving the lookout, diligently caring for the structure itself while also acting as an interpreter of its story.
