Conversely, individuals from wealthy backgrounds who exhibit perceived pretentiousness are labeled “fresas,” a term meaning “strawberry.” This dichotomy highlights the complex interplay between social class and behavior in Mexico; one can be economically affluent yet still be regarded as “Naco” based on perceived unrefined behavior.
