Music in the 1980s had a distinct atmosphere, with vinyl records gradually being eclipsed by cassette tapes—a format that offered portability and ease of storage. While cassette tapes allowed us to carry our favorite music everywhere—be it in cars, boom boxes, or Walkmans—the experience of finding the right song was often a hassle. We spent countless hours rewinding and fast-forwarding through tapes, risking damage to the tapes with every turn. Today, kids enjoy immediate access to any song they desire at the click of a button, something that was merely a dream back then.
