Architectural Evidence
Next, Illig points out a lack of significant architectural accomplishments during these supposed missing years. He notes that the number of surviving structures, mainly castles and churches, is surprisingly low. Furthermore, he argues that remaining edifices, like the Aachen Cathedral, appear too advanced for the era they were supposed to occupy.
