By 2020, a global pandemic shifted the landscape dramatically for VR. As the world turned to virtual platforms for communication and entertainment, interest surged; however, this boom ultimately revealed underlying issues within the industry. The lack of innovative software development prompted discussions within the community questioning whether PC VR gaming had reached a stagnation point. Outside of iconic titles like Half-Life: Alyx, many users found themselves longing for new, engaging games.
