Okorfor's journey with the Patriots began with high hopes, yet it quickly descended into chaos. Early in the season, his performance during the preseason raised concerns. He logged only 12 snaps in the season opener, leaving fans and coaches alike perplexed regarding his readiness and commitment to the team.
By mid-September, reports emerged that Okorfor had informed the Patriots of his desire to leave the team, following a heartbreaking overtime loss to Seattle in week two. Head coach Jerod Mayo noted that their conversations were more humanitarian than tactical, focusing on Okorfor’s well-being rather than football.
