One major point of contention was the concept of placing running backs on choice routes, which left Mahomes without a viable option. Without a reliable outlet, the Chiefs often resorted to forcing plays into tight coverage. This forced Mahomes to make risky throws, which resulted in turnovers that proved detrimental.
In contrast, restructuring the offensive approach to incorporate clear, defined roles for all receivers would have alleviated some pressure on Mahomes. Allowing more dynamic engagement from the receivers could have countered the Eagles' defense and possibly created more separation on critical routes.
