The investigation ramped up strikingly in 2018 when Texas Ranger Holland re-established contact, contributing a significant 200-page VICAP report—detailing Little's numerous arrests and whereabouts from 1940 up to his arrest in LA. It became evident that many victims were misclassified due to how their deaths were often labeled, obstructing the identification of patterns in Little’s gruesome acts, especially in cases of strangulation.

Driven by an urgent need for resolution, investigators began checking the historical data with retired detectives from North Charleston. Despite mountainous obstacles, the determination to pursue Little’s confessions kept developing and spiraling outwards.
