When do you think COVID will vanish from this world ?
Do you think masks will become a part of our daily life ?
What do you think is the mistake people are doing ( forget about the government)?

It won't. It's here to stay, just like the flu and the common cold (which is also a Corona-Virus). It will mutate and change and some variants will be worse than others. It's served it's purpose by becoming a political weapon for big government to take more control but it will be used again when the current governments get swept out of office in two and four years (provided they're not able to change enough laws to maintain their grip).
Masks are here to stay and I don't necessarily think that's a terrible thing. At some point they'll become more optional but I think they've permeated society enough that it won't be "weird" for people to wear them. Plus, the real positive data on other things like influenza will probably keep them relevant enough that a certain percentage of the population will continue to wear them. The "shaming" of non-maskwearers is ridiculous though.
People just need to be healthy. Stay hydrated, get enough sleep, take vitamin D if you're not getting outside enough. Things people should do anyway. This just adds another reason and consequence if you don't.

Yea, I share your vision on the masks thing. To be honest, I probably won't be wearing them as much but I think it's not gonna be weird anymore and more people will start wearing them voluntarily.

Me too . I hadn't wore a mask in my entire life to be honest but now I think it is good not only for COVID purpose but also with respect to pollution ( which is way too much here )

the common cold is caused by a large variety of viruses, including some less harmful coronaviruses. Just to clarify things :)

I see , I didn't know this .
Please comment more things like this here :p lol

I don't usually like talking about medical stuff with "ordinary" people because most have strong convictions and beliefs and I deal with data and science. People are emotional creatures and frequently, reason and objective facts don't have an effect on them :P
But feel free to ask me anything and I'll reply to the best of my ability :)

Yeah I guess so because I know some people who used masks all the time even before COVID came to the world .
I agree with all of your points , I wish governments were more sensitive in this issue .
Hm I am doing everything apart from Vitamin D , will add that to my routine .
Thank you for your detailed reply .

That's a tough one... I'm trying to remain optimistic but some experts say we will never really get rid of it. We will able to keep it under control but it's gonna stick around forever, so they say.
We still don't know much about the long-term effects of the vaccines and that could be a major factor.
Also, some countries are way behind on a vaccination plan so, even if the vaccines prove to be very effective in containing the virus, countries like Brazill, for example, will have to live with the virus for a while before they can get a significant portion of the population vaccinated.
I find the mask debate an interesting one. I will not continue to wear them once it's ok to do so but a lot of people I know already told me that they will keep wearing masks on some occasions even if there's no imminent threat on the air.
A friend who is in the food business told me that in his restaurant, employees will always be instructed to wear a mask, even when the COVID situation is over. That applies to managers, hosts, waiters, and, of course, people who work in the kitchen. In his opinion, that should be the standard for the industry.
I understand his reasoning but I don't see that happening, especially when you think about high-end fancy restaurants.
I think the mistake that many people are doing is resorting to treatments that have absolutely no proven effectiveness. I don't know how that situation is on the rest of the world but here, the government went against the recommendation of the health experts and started to push some ineffective medicine to treat COVID. A lot of people followed the president's recommendation blindly and now we know that, not only that medicine had no effect on COVID but also studies suggest that it actually aggravates the condition of the ill.
I know you said to leave the government out of it but it's very hard in this case lol

Hm well as far as making wearing masks mandatory in restaurants even after COVID makes sense to maintain hygene as well as to make the germophobics happy .
But yeah the COVID changed everything around us , it changed our lives and lifestyle forever .

Never. Those politicians are using it as a weapon to gain more control.
For the next few years, yes. Eventually we will reach herd immunity and will rely on something like a flu shot every year
Not living out their lives and speaking out their opinions. I think most people are wondering why the data is so bad and flip-flops all the time. If enough people talked about it, then they would have to address it. It just falls apart when you compared what the media and the figure heads can't back up their own words.

Oh man that made me sad lol but yeah seems like that's the reality .
Well there were reports that in India we already reached herd immunity but it changes nothing .
