RE: Leo Talk 5/18/21 - Come Join Our Chat (Part 1)

It works similar to this -

"Give me the code for retrieving all rows and columns from table school "

It will respond

"select * from school"

This is an sql example .

GPT3 is already doing this very well since it has scraped the stackoverflow data a lot lol . But GPT3 wasn't aimed to do this actually . So a project fully dedicated for this alone ? It will be a nightmare for existing programmers for sure .

A nightmare how? In that it is a threat to their profession or because it will be a nightmare to work with?

Threat to the profession in the most case. People tend to get hired because people don't want to learn the underlying language and pay someone else to do it.

threat to their profession

This . There are lot of people whose job depend fully on SQL and this can easily eliminate them .

I am not talking about those who are in 25-30 years age group because they have to read python , R and SQL for say data analyst jobs but there are people who graduated in 2005-10 who are masters of SQL alone .
They will have a tough time if this project actually does what it is supposed to do .

Ah ok. It is understood. Well just another example of where automation and AI is a threat to jobs.

How come this does not surprise me?

Very interesting. I read something along those lines long ago but I didn't really know how advanced it was.
