RE: The Problems with Matrix-8

in LeoFinance3 years ago

Thanks again for your work here @iconclastic

are willing to base themselves on that very legal structure. This is immensely dangerous to both them and the people how are gathering around them in support of changing the world.

Although the members of the DAO will be anonymous, so I'm not sure about the risk), I do agree with you here to some extent, and do wish to avoid registering as a legal DAO, which is why I added the word "likely" to John's (@matrix-8) original words. I am researching better alternatives, but I think @snider has a solution already so we will not be obligated to or identifiable by anyone. We intend The Matrix-8 Solutions to be a sovereign organization.

It is better in many ways to just exist in a way that they can't regulate.

Yes, definitely, I agree. I read an excellent article yesterday by @dan about his proposed dispute resolution system for Fractally (EOS rebranded) so no-one ever needs to resort to the corrupt legal systems. Indeed, if any member did take external legal action toward another community member, then he/she is expelled from community.

There is no explanation of how to handle groups of people that don't neatly into a number divisible by eight. If I have 67 members, do the last 3 get divided into their own group or split and mixed into one of the 8 member groups.

The way it was intended was so the number of people would as evenly distributed as possible between 8PAC's. However, I think in response to your post to which I sent him a link requesting a response, John just sent me this:

As a method to accommodate new Participants into the Matrix, a new Participant will join the last 8-PAC formed, as an Associate Member. In this way, the last 8-PAC formed will grow to 15 before it splits into two standard 8-PACs – or, until the next Survey. And if after a Survey there are left overs, they will be assigned as Associate Members of the 8-PACs which are most in agreement with them.

As an Associate Member, a new Participant can sit in on all the Deliberations of the Open 8-PAC. But they may not speak – until there is a Majority of at least 3 Associate Members who agree. Then they can enter into the conversation of the Open 8-PAC.

So, when the Associate Members reach 8, they will spin off as their own 8-PAC. And immediately, as the last 8-PAC formed, they will be the entry point for the next Participants to sign up.

There will be a bit of chaos with the Newbies as they find their feet. But there will be constant support from the Chatroom explaining how the matrix works, and what a new Member should expect.

Please keep any questions / posts coming and I will do my best to respond more promptly.
