I think this experience is fair. I think there was a time your transaction was not resolved for more than 24 hours and your dad was on your neck. That should be the worst right? Tell us about it. #talkingpoint.
I was rendering a home service, making use of my terminal to make withdraw. The network was poor, so when it came up I had to make withdrawal it debited him twice and only one reverse within 24hrs. He was on my neck for the second one.
My worst experience was the day I did a NGN 15,000 transaction I was debited and the money was never sent. It took more than 1 year going to the bank and filling forms. Till today it was never resolved. I left the bank #talkingpoint.
hahahaha banks here can be very fustrating there was a time I went to bank and the light went off I stayed more than one hour and there was nolight
#talkingpoint
I think this is a general problem. I just related one of my own above, the day they didnt resolve my 15k transaction till today. Read it above. #talkingpoint
boldlIm not sure I'll ever wanna go there if not for my sweat, I've climbed the staircases in banks to the extent that I might be awarded a gold medal soon #talkingpoint
This topic is really an important one. The banks has delt with lots of people and we really need something better! I will be dropping some of my experiences.
Yes oooo. I have already dropped one experience with one of the banks. It was terrible. I no longer use that bank because they never resolved the transaction.
It was early last year I transfered some money to someone and I was debited but the person did not receive the money. I went to the bank to verify they couldn't trace it until after 3weeks the morning return to my account..
3 weeks. I mean this person will think that you have spent the money or didnt do the transaction. Thank God it was later verified. But 3 weeks is too much. #talking oint
One of the problems i suspect with banks is trust issues. Some of the staffs are deliberately making away with customers funds and blaming the network. #talkingpoint
Honestly, this part is always annoying too, customers will queue for hours but end up hearing "call back tomorrow, were sorry for the inconveniences" #talkingpoint
The last time I visited the bank , the queue was much and I have to use their ATM machine , before I could know what was happening the ATM machine swallowed my ATM card . It took me 3days to recover my card so . So
I could remember the day I needed to withdraw some cash. Just to avoid banking stress, I decided to withdraw from POS. As if bank know my plan, they removed the money from my account but didn't deliver it to me. #talkingpoint 🧵
It's their pattern. They did exactly to my friend. Bank is now filled with scammers carrying out fraudulent activities. It's best not to save in bank #talkingpoint
The worst part of the whole drama is that the money they debited from my account was sent by someone else to cater for an emergency. And it was on weekend #talkingpoint #threads247 🧵
As Mondays are sit-at-home over here, patiently, I waited till Tuesday. As I went to bank, they told me that it's only 1st bank that can retrieve back my money to my account. Imagine!!, I did the transaction under UBA #talkingpoint 🧵
As they referred me to first bank, that was just the beginning of my punishment and suffer. Honestly, ever since then, it's just of recently that I withdrew from POS. The punishment lasted more than 2 weeks. #talkingpoint 🧵
my bank app had issue and I need their help. Went there but was surprised when you showed me my password. Something that I think its safe with me and nobody know it.
Another major challenge is customer care, I mean the way bank staffs treats their customers with disdain is alarming, no one pays attention to you and you become frustrated #talkingpoint
You are right about this. They just do not care. And when there is network downtime, they seem to enjoy it. Posting and laughing as if nothing is happening.
Someone borrowed me 50k by bank transfer and I got the credit alert only for me to go for withdrawal bank say they didn't see the money
I ask them how will they credit me if they didn't see the money
#talkingpoint
I am telling you. Did you know that banks operate fully based on trust? Thats why many of them are breaking that trust because its hard for them to be honest. #talkingpoint
And that's why many of such banks are being shut down by the government, but wtf is that? How will one decide to safekeep his hard earned money to some set of Individuals only to be duped by them... That's bad #talkingpoint
Once smart contract is adopted, nobody will have access to your money and all transactions will be automated. How can i have 3 transactions pending and noone is responsible? #talkingpoint
Like for such a long time, you can imagine me getting notification that my account was credited and on getting there they say they didn't see the money is that not funny.
Really intriguing show, mine was exactly during the inception of so-called cashless policy period when I qued for almost a day just for ₦3,000. It was deeply appalling.
it was exactly at the inception of the cashless policy, when I qued for almost a whole day just to get 3k. I felt like giving up on Nigeria in the experience.
Entering the banking Hall and I heard there's no network, wait for a little while and I waited for close to 2hrs.
This was really a bad experience. From few to two hours. Did the network really cone back? #talkingpoint
Yes it did, after I must have left to do some other activities and go back.
I think this experience is fair. I think there was a time your transaction was not resolved for more than 24 hours and your dad was on your neck. That should be the worst right? Tell us about it. #talkingpoint.
🤣🤣yes you're right.
Please tell us about it. That was actually during the cash shortage period.
I was rendering a home service, making use of my terminal to make withdraw. The network was poor, so when it came up I had to make withdrawal it debited him twice and only one reverse within 24hrs. He was on my neck for the second one.
Yes it did, after I must have left to do some other activities and go back.
You mean you waited for 2 whole hours and was your problem resolved?
To be honest with you, it was tiring.
I can imagine
The queuing is nothing to write home about, all we do is rearrange the queues and keep piling up #talkingpoint
Queuing in bank is a bad experience, especially when people that knows people don't have to but just to work direct. And you just be in the queue.
Every ne in Nigeria have had a similiar experience. Its painful
I guess you know how it feels. #talkingpoint.
I have had that experience too.
#talkingpoint
My worst experience was the day I did a NGN 15,000 transaction I was debited and the money was never sent. It took more than 1 year going to the bank and filling forms. Till today it was never resolved. I left the bank #talkingpoint.
You mean till date they didn't refund you your 15k that's a whole lots of moy you know
Yes ooo. Its *enith bank. Till today i still have 3 pending transactions unresolved. I have stopped banking with them.
I don't even know which bank to bank with again
They are all the same
Why do I keep thinking that this whole embezzlement of a thing is done on purpose maybe that's where their salary comes from
#tqlkingpoint
Hahahahah if it's their salary so what do they do with the monthly token they deduct from our accounts every month
You mean it lasted for more than a year?? Gosh, I actually did give up when I tried severally #talkingpoint
hahahaha banks here can be very fustrating there was a time I went to bank and the light went off I stayed more than one hour and there was nolight
#talkingpoint
The light went off? That must be embarrassing.. So what was their reason? Were they using Nepa light?
Yea and after it went of Thier lister refused to start
One day they said I should drop my cash that there is no network to deposit it, I said noooo I have to go with my money
Am in love with this topic because, our local banks have dealt with me severally. Infact, I now have natural hatred for bank #talkingpoint
Do you know that at some point I wanted to withdraw all my money and save it inside my box lol
#talkingpoint
GainI also gave that a thought. But, finally, I made up my mind only to save money for foodstuffs there.
hahahahah hahahahah hahahahah that's it at some point you will think of another way to save your money
Can we hear some of those experiences
Yes oooo. I have already dropped one experience with one of the banks. It was terrible. I no longer use that bank because they never resolved the transaction.
Doing any bank transaction is so frustrating these days so I am avoiding anything that can take me to the bank. I prefer POS
POS is the worse if you mistakenly meet with those fraudsters in the name of POS business
You're right when I am dealing with POS agents , its mainly with people that live in the same neighborhood
You just have to be careful
I will . Thank you for that candid advice
But i know you must have done a banking transaction that made you almost have high BP. Tell us about it. #talkingpoint
Actaually it was my rent . My landlord believe that I was playing prank with him. The bank really messed me up.
One of the problems i suspect with banks is trust issues. Some of the staffs are deliberately making away with customers funds and blaming the network. #talkingpoint
Especially those ones that was sacked they will now turn to scammers
Yes because they have inside information they can use that to steal.
Thats why is centralized system, they are in control of everything
Thats really why its risky to save with the bank.
Is better to save in cryptocurrency, just get a digital wallet and be free from all this.
Honestly, this part is always annoying too, customers will queue for hours but end up hearing "call back tomorrow, were sorry for the inconveniences" #talkingpoint
They are always sorry lol
is any one there #talkingpoint
I have been waiting to ask this question . Thi bankingg issue is it globally or only in Nigeria @beauty197? #talkingpoint
I also wish to know thats why am inviting our friends from other countries to tell us there experience
And many more. @taskmaster4450le @khal @anomadsoul
I will be glad to know their experiences too.
@alokkumar121 do you have any banking experience you will like to share with us #talkingpoint
The last time I visited the bank , the queue was much and I have to use their ATM machine , before I could know what was happening the ATM machine swallowed my ATM card . It took me 3days to recover my card so . So
Hahahahah hahahahah that swallowing of ATM is just another story altogether
Ive been wondering too oooo, you Know Nigeria and their extraordinary lifestyle #talkingpoint
I doubted if people from other countries experience this banking issues too. #talkingpoint
I could remember the day I needed to withdraw some cash. Just to avoid banking stress, I decided to withdraw from POS. As if bank know my plan, they removed the money from my account but didn't deliver it to me. #talkingpoint 🧵
And after a while they will say they gave it to the POS agent, then POS will say I didn't see it
Lol
It's their pattern. They did exactly to my friend. Bank is now filled with scammers carrying out fraudulent activities. It's best not to save in bank #talkingpoint
Honestly ooo
Pos too has it own wahala, sometimes I just get confused thinking maybe they work in collaboration with banks to frustrate us🤣 #talkingpoint
You don't have to think twice. It's just so. Some POS agents are wolves in sheeplike form. Let's apply caution #talkingpoint
To be Sincere, our banking system is down on the ground. From my perspective, there is no hope. #talkingpoint #money #threads247
One other challenge I have met in bank is come today come tomorrow to be honest it's fustrating
It can be frustrating. Sometimes they tell you its because of the network. Thats bad.
my bank app had issue and I need their help. Went there but was surprised when you showed me my password. Something that I think its safe with me and nobody know it.
I really felt very bad after incident
#talkingpoint
Its not a good experience at all, no information is safe with them
Hahahahah nothing is safe with you that's why is centralized system
yes. I believed you. They are custodian of my account and fund.
They showed your password? They already know it na. Thats why banks are run based on trust. We need smart contracts
Yes. My password should not be known by anyone that what i thought
Funny....all i do is pray severally to God to help me keep my cash safe as banks are not trustworthy #talkingpoint
Its not safe at all. There is no interests added so why keep money there again?
Another major challenge is customer care, I mean the way bank staffs treats their customers with disdain is alarming, no one pays attention to you and you become frustrated #talkingpoint
You know those staffs only recognize rich men will huge or fat account
I doubt ooo, even poor people are being robbed of the little they have, if not why was I debited when i didn't have much left in there? #talkingpoint
I have warned them not to touch my small 5k
Lol
Those on suit with briefcases and car keys are ones they rush after knowing they'll be tipped after all #
Because they know that something will come out of them, you will only tell them thank you
You are right about this. They just do not care. And when there is network downtime, they seem to enjoy it. Posting and laughing as if nothing is happening.
I think I'll have to take some banks to court, we've had enough? What do you think? #talkingpoint
All my experience with banks has been terrible, the current experience I had wasn't funny at all.
So sorry dear. Please, would you mind sharing your last experience with us? #talkingpoint
Someone borrowed me 50k by bank transfer and I got the credit alert only for me to go for withdrawal bank say they didn't see the money
I ask them how will they credit me if they didn't see the money
#talkingpoint
@wealthwess the discussion has started and your experience is much welcomed
I really wish banking transactions work through smart contracts. I dont think.some.of our banks can be trusted again.
This is yet to be adopted buh it will help a lot when it comes to safer, easier and faster transaction protocols #talkingpoint
Honestly adoption of cryptocurrency transaction will save Nigeria a lot
Once smart contract is adopted, nobody will have access to your money and all transactions will be automated. How can i have 3 transactions pending and noone is responsible? #talkingpoint
Like for such a long time, you can imagine me getting notification that my account was credited and on getting there they say they didn't see the money is that not funny.
@taskmaster4450le, it's ongoing
okay
Banks in Nigeria really needs improvement b
Really intriguing show, mine was exactly during the inception of so-called cashless policy period when I qued for almost a day just for ₦3,000. It was deeply appalling.
it was exactly at the inception of the cashless policy, when I qued for almost a whole day just to get 3k. I felt like giving up on Nigeria in the experience.
hahahahah hahahahah hahahahah at some point they will even say they 3k don finish.
My dear, those days was undeserving honestly.
